Issue with taxes
I just got a wad of 1099s in today. I document every check that I get throughout the year just like a good boy does, so why do I have differences with my 1099s I received. Most of them are dead perfect. But there are two or three that are off by a few hundred. I am already going to be dropping a load on taxes, I don't need more leaving my pocket.
How many of you have the same problem? Is this common? |
Shouldnt be.
I am sure you can "find" more expenses to offset a few hundred on 1099s though. |
Request a statement from those in question and copies of checks.
They may be padding their payouts to lower thier taxes! |

Another thing that might cause the discrepancy is if you are adding your numbers up by the date you received them/deposited them, etc rather than the date they issued the check. |

a lot of those never reconcile exactly. A lot of the program owners play games also.
