topic says it all really. currently in NYC for 12 months, can anyone recommend any cool places to go? bar/clubs etc. - anything really.

been to a few dodgy ones already, oh, and the gay bar we went into by mistake (thought it was a little odd when everyone turned around when we walked in, but hey, it was the first bar we came to!)

any recommendations would be cool. before i forget, cheap is good, my pay packet isn't too hot the end of the week :)

W hotels have nice lunges, check out the one on 47 st, the basement as well as the bar on the 7th fl (i think) china club is real hot tonight, check out 151 (might be renamed)
crowbar is big and new and still hot, enjoy these menatime
