Some sites use it so that members don't get a password prompt each time that WMP plays a vid:
http://user:[email protected]/members/somemovie.mpg If you leave WMP open then you don't get re-prompted each time you play a new vid, but you will have to enter your u/p at least twice to enter the site and view a video. |
