Some sites use it so that members don't get a password prompt each time that WMP plays a vid:

http://user:[email protected]/members/somemovie.mpg

If you leave WMP open then you don't get re-prompted each time you play a new vid, but you will have to enter your u/p at least twice to enter the site and view a video.

Well good. Only stupid MoFos put passwords on the URL.
Why use a fucking password at all if you include it on the URL?
When you click a link on that page you send me your fucking password in the referring URL.

Learn how to program and you don't need stupid shit like this.
