yo. FUCK GOOGLE. those fucking SCAMMERS.

FUCK THEM.

and FUCK YOU if u aint on my side.

I run Google ads on my gaming site, and I tell my members 'hey click those ads, it helps support our site'.... and Google cites that as 'deceptive practices' andf then closes my account.

now WHAT THE FUCK!

If I didnt open my mouth those mofo's would have not gave a rats ass about those ads. I had people in the forums posting topics about sites they found FROM those fucking ads... so its not like people were blind clicking for the fucks sake of fucking clicking.

FUCK GOOGLE.

:2 cents:

k i feel better now.

Triple 6 02-02-2004 02:54 PM

for real, if you told YOUR members to click the sponsor ads on your site cuz it supports YOUR site, is that DECEPTIVE?

CCFool 02-02-2004 02:54 PM

Yes

It all depends on the wording i suppose.

If its against the tos then its against the tos , there is no gray area. :)

SexxxyChat-T 02-02-2004 02:56 PM

Google is a bitch...

Their rationale for it is that you are artificially increasing your ad popularity, they have an algo for their ad placement which is based in most part on that "interest" bar.

So they kick you in the nuts for telling your peoples to click it.

DarkJedi 02-02-2004 02:57 PM

Yes

420 02-02-2004 02:57 PM

How will people who already know about your site help by clicking your ad on google? The only reason for that would be to inflate CTR, thus dropping your overall price per click. So who is the scammer here?

gornyhuy 02-02-2004 02:58 PM

Terms of Service are there for a reason.

What if you put a clickbot on those links and they didn't pay your for the clicks? Encouraging users who arent interested in the search results to click is effectivly the same thing.

If you're talking about adsense then of course you can't encourage people to click those ads "to help your site".

::sigh::

well then i think thats fucking stupid. Normally people dont click ads and telling them to do so can be relevant to them and the advertiser. More eyes on your site and im sending over a targeted audience. Eh whatever, apparently I violated the TOS so Im bitching about breaking the rules here.

regardless,

FUCK GOOGLE.

Basic_man 02-02-2004 03:07 PM

I understand your side.. but Google's one too.. and fuck you :D

hes the reason tyhat code no longer works.

twistyneck 02-02-2004 03:09 PM

I'm going to have to take Google's side on this one.

Strife 02-02-2004 03:09 PM

It might be fucked but it's still your fault for not reading and following their Terms

MetaMan 02-02-2004 03:12 PM

u fucking idiot, that is one of googles main rules, they want people to click and not because u tell them to, they want them interested in the keyword without u telling them because then the traffic is cleaner.

next time learn how to read twat.

Manowar 02-02-2004 03:14 PM

Google wants targeted vistors, not people clicking to make you cash. Direct flaunting of the TOS , of course your gonna get kicked off

Google has to send targetted traffic to adwords ads now that their free results are totally irrelevant. It's no wonder they are cracking down. What a scammy ass way to make money. Screw the regular Serp's so more people click the ads...and they call adult webmasters shady!

GonePhishing 02-04-2004 02:17 PM

It seems like it is shifting around some again. Or at least has been around with the fresh bot.

Theo 02-04-2004 02:44 PM

Glad they closed your account.

Dusen 02-04-2004 02:46 PM

This is exactly why people only select accepting adwords clicks from google.com, and not the partner/content sites.

Rich 02-04-2004 02:46 PM

You're a moron, play by the rules and you'll get paid.

x-vision 02-04-2004 03:31 PM

Triple 6, what is your gaming site URL?

mryellow 02-04-2004 08:24 PM

You'll find rules like this in almost any impression or click based
advertising. Looking at the history this technique has only ever
really been used to scam programs in some way or another. You
thinking you could get away with it and not reading the terms is
funny more than anything else.

All you gotta do instead of saying 'clickon these adds' ... is type 'this site generates revenue when someone clicks on an add, have a nice day.'

if it was pay per click sponsor, then yes, it's deceptive.

sure, some people found an interesting site by clicking. but how many people do you think clicked, let the window load and then closed it?

say out of every 10 clicks, only one person actually checked out the link he followed instead of clicking. that increases someone's advertising cost by 10 times. and those are very optimistic numbers.

if you were using the adwords program and you saw some dude telling people to click on your ads just so he could make money, would you be happy?

serious 02-04-2004 09:17 PM

haha thats a major rule in all ppc programs, im guessing adsense pays per click?

you fucked yourself

Triple 6 02-06-2004 04:43 PM

eh, live and learn i guess.

yea well next time i'll actually read the tos

:thumbsup
