What tools everyone use for create text banners and ads?

For something simple (like the jpg in my sig) I use paint and PhotoPlus. I haven't reinstalled anything to created animated since my last hard drive format so haven't done any of that lately (but you asked about text:))

I do all my sig designs in Maya! - It's real inexpensive and easy to learn! :thumbsup

Thanks for links. Any more programs what have lots of fonts and styles to use, and easy to add effects to text?

I thought Maya was for 3D "lord of the rings" type effects and that it costs $$$$'s?

You're absolutely correct. I was being a smartass - sorry. My employer just bought me a developer's edition of Maya and I'm going to start learning it very soon. I'm excited!!! Yay! I've got Maya, Yay!!! :thumbsup
