Actually, I've had reports from wm's in the UK who are charged 5-10 % for cashing a US issued check in US dollars. We began wiring the funds in whatever currency a wm prefers to save the wm the costs their banks were charging them for converting the currency.
I can't write a check in Euros or UK Pounds, but I can transfer the funds in whatever currency a wm likes ($5000.00 minimum for wire transfer).

yup always charged for USD cheques :( when i first started out i was letting places send me $20 cheques but it totally wasnt worth it because of the amount banks take off, now i wait for bigger cheques and it's not so bad

they charge me $15, but you have to tell the bank that they can deposit your checks as 1 amount, that way you don't have to pay the $15 for each checks, of course this only applies if you have multiple checks.

For wire it really doesnt make any difference. Pick one that you like more...
