Driving vacation from San Diego to Napa
 

Good idea, or not? My wife thinks this sounds like a wonderful thing. I hate driving, I hate traffic, I hate sight seeing. Then again I am married, and have to comprise.

How many days should we allow to see sights along the way and not be driving all day? We usually never go places for more than 3 nights, but I know this cant be done that quick.

Anyone ever done this? Should I just keep my pimp hand strong and say no?

Driving to the airport sounds like a comprimise to me.

I hate traffic. I have road rage. I drive maybe 8k miles a year. Half of which is driving back and forth to my lake house.

The center of Cali SUX, not much to see! Follow PCH up the coast if you're going to go thru with it.. This time of year, I'd stay in SD for sure!

i hate traffic too, but i love to drive. especially on long, windy, deserted roads in the mountains (in the summer). very nice.

PCH is highway 1 most of the way. It's a beautiful drive, but it takes a long time..

Brad, you should go for it. Ask Mike about his trip.. He stayed at some great hotels along the way.
