Outsourcing With Programmers In India?
Interested to hear your experiences with programmers, techs, server admins, etc. from India.
|
Anyone?
|
My post in the other thread was along these lines... I did some work with a company that outsourced a small technical support team (email and forum based) to India, and it was frustrating. They had to be babysat, and we learned that the things they were good at we could have written a logic program to handle, or hired someone's kid to do.
Maybe I'm bias because I depend on the income I earn programming, but I'd recommend that if you're looking to save some money on development, look north :) |
I have had some work done through http://www.dynamicwebtech.com
Ask for Kapil he is very professional and they work within budgets and deadlines. I cant fault them. Aaron Mc |

The ones based in Russia seem to be a bit more bright but more sneaky. I would cut up the source code (and payments) between developers if you have the time to spec it out properly. I'm sure there is a few that can do the job. |
Talents are never cheap, they know their fair price.
You want to go cheaper? You'll get what you pay for I guess. :2 cents: |
So far I had a very good experience with guys from the Ukraine as well as a mediocre one with some guys from India. Got both from http://www.elance.com ... contact me if you need their email. And both had very competitive prices.

last year I paid a Malaysian programmer for an important job, it was cheaper than others and the job was perfectly done. I also heard that Russian and some countries such as India also have some performant programmers for cheap.

It is hit or miss with India, I have found some kick ass ones in India as well as some suck ass ones. Make sure you ask them alot of questions before hand to make sure they understand what you want done and that payment will be made only upon satisfaction of the work. Make sure everything is agreed upon first - price, deadline, what is expected, etc.
But it has been my experience that Eastern European programers are better. I don't know why that is but the jobs I sent to Eastern European programmers were done better, quicker and as inexpensive as similar jobs in india. I have used both elance.com and scriptlance.com. I have used elance since the year 2000 and just recently used scriptlance (last 5 months) the programmers on scriptlance do the same jobs i post on elance for less money. if you don't believe me, post your job on both and see for yourself. |
Most important thing is pick someone with good feedback and the more ratings the better :)
|
Elance.com Has the feedback your are looking for :winkwink:
Great place to get bids for projects.....see feedback and samples. |
my time is worth money and having to explain something eighty times is just plain annoying and a waste of my time, this is my experience with programmers in foreign countires and especially India.
Once you found a few quality programmers who understand ur needs and some insite into how the industry works, keep the mother fuckers... thats what I have done... programmers are the biggest fucking time wasting piece of shits i have ever came across in this industry. |
My experience in dealing with Indian programming was not good. I wasted lot of time explaining what I need exactly and finally when my program was written it was so bugful that i was forced to have someone to rewrite it.. I hired a programming team from Russia and got very good results for the same price (lilbit less)
My opinion: if u want good quality, nice support low prices and don't want to waste your time deal with Eastern European programmers |
if anyone of you guys needs eastern european programmers or admins - hit me up and I'll give you a good deal ;)

I've looked for a long time for offshore developers, every one I talk with wants the biz very badly but really does not understand the English.
If they don't understand, they can't code. I've never hired one. |
