why are models so fucking STUPID
 

Going through my voicemail today "Hey my name is COUGH blah blah, uh huh... call me at 916 3 blah blah huh" WTF kind of bullshit is that anyway? They whisper their number at 90 mph, and there's no way in hell anyone could understand what they're saying. Damn ridiculous...

I deal with that shit EVERY DAY, it sucks!

Well modelling isn't exactly the profession of choice for those with higher than average IQ.

Easiest job in the world: Show up, look good, don't bitch.

When I had a studio in LA, half the time they wouldn't show up, nor even give you the courtesy of a cancellation or rescheduling call.

Exactly, and you'd think they'd speak extra clear if they actually want to get a call back. Seems to me they don't give a shit about anything when they can't even do that right. I dunno, this stuff is getting depressing.

And they'll call you again next week, and pretend like they've never talked to you before. I had this girl respond to one of my ads looking for model recruiters, called her back to schedule an interview... never showed, and never canceled. Next week I was advertising for models. Same girl calls me again, so I call to schedule an interview... never shows and never cancels. Third time, same results. I've always wondered if normal employers go through the same bullshit.

Hmm. I'm not sure about USA, but it's normal in ex-USSR countries. I'd say it's more frequent between models - about 50% do not show without any wxplanations after they set an interview with me, and yet more 25% (from those that show) disappear after the interview though seemed to be agreed for posing. But I used to hire programmers and painters - they do the same, it's just that may be a % is slightly lower.

Being smart has almost nothing to do with knowing how to make money. And 80% of models are just narcissists. They love to show themselves. This doesn't mean they would do this for free (though some definitelly would), but it's true.

Answering machines need some kind of system where the caller can punch in their phone number and have it be digitally recorded by your phone, so you can call them back.

You complain about their actions and question how it would apply to the mainstream workplace yet you allow them to blow off an interview and then reschedule another one....Not only once, but 3 times?

Here's a thought....Have them call you 1 hour before the appointment just to confirm that they will be there. If they don't call then you call them 45 minutes before. If they do not confirm, they do not work. Make this a regular practice and you will avoid a lot of headaches as well as wasting time waiting for a no-show.

It's called caller ID combined with the service that denys anon callers.

I'll confirm that my experience has been the same. For people who only buy content, they don't realize the effort it takes to get models.

Advertise, reply back and forth 3-4 times, of all inquiries, maybe 25% agree to meet, then 50% of those actually show up. Then 50% of those are actually worth photographing. Then you setup (assuming first one was just a test shoot you can't sell) another appointment, photograph for a few hours, sign all legal stuff and IDs, and edit photos.

Then during middle of the shoot, it starts getting old...jeez, how many times do I have to see this model naked?....then it becomes a job.

Learned some very interesting stuff about people and such though.

i don't know about women in the U.S but me im from quebec and i can tell you that my #1 priority is to have the asked job done properly.
and i prefer doing posing than be a fucking hooker in vegas.

being a model i don't have to be touch by other men(cause i do have a b/f)

and yes i agree that its the easiest job on heart(lol exept when you get fucking assholes)

but btw i do webcam shows not pictures.

We did, we now buy content instead of making our own. It's nice to have the weekends back.

Smart move. It's always good to know when you suck at something and have the forsight to quit.

Lost weekends huh? Ya see...That's the beauty of this biz. As long as my clients projects get done in a reasonable amount of time...I can set my own schedule.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread....Too many people do not treat this as a real business. You have a job to do and so does the talent. If you BOTH can't figure that part out and figure the best way to get it done together then you BOTH need to seek different career paths.
