sumphatpimp 01-31-2004 01:03 AM

thanks for the pic, it now has been saved to CD for permanience.

michel 01-31-2004 01:33 AM

We have warnings like that in The Netherlands, only with hanging chains. If a truck hits the chains, an alarm will go off. A lot of trucks get (got) stuck in tunnels, etc. over here.
There are signs over here that state how high the tunnels are, but still drivers hit it. That is kinda retarded.

To be honest, the pic looks funny indeed, but my guess is it actually works (If the truckers actually stop after they hit it that is)

block 01-31-2004 01:42 AM

They should have those all over my town. Heard of a couple trucks hitting low bridges around here.

I really wonder what that sounds like from inside the transport. Guess only truckers and sardines know.

Carrie 01-31-2004 04:57 AM

There was a sign like that up in Syracuse NY too... again all bent to hell :)

kmanrox 01-31-2004 05:40 AM

Those truck drivers are damn stupid if they don't even know how high their vehicle is

LadyMischief 01-31-2004 07:05 AM

Heh there was a bridge like that where I used to live in Calgary.. Trucks were always smashing the campers off the back, cube vans were slicing the tops off and getting stuck and whatnot.. the bridge had been there for like, 40 years. You'd think someone would have learned by then.. sheesh.

echodotcom 01-31-2004 07:31 AM

the sign is about to fall off anytime

Any1 ever seen one of thoses ?

StuartD 03-01-2004 01:07 PM

You know that the only reason they'd ever bother to put that up is because they've had trucks hit that bridge way to many times.

Is it dumb that they had to or dumb that the trucks kept running into a bridge?

:1orglaugh

axelcat 03-01-2004 01:07 PM

Thats a good one:thumbsup

Happened to me once. But it happened only the second time that I went under the bridge :)
I had a heavy load on the first trip, which I'd offloaded. Then, driving back, there was this horrible grinding screech, and I was jammed solid. Let some air out of the tyres and it was fine. My heart almost stopped though :)
