seriously I can think of no other drummer that can hold a candle to Neil Peart, he's the real deal, and I'm not really that much of a Rush fan but godamn that guy has got some incredible abilities.

I second that! I saw them at the Thomas and Mack center. His drum solo was on a platform that turned upside down, sideways, and just kept turning for his entire solo. It was classic, never seen anything like it.

BTW, what song is that?

The "guy from RUSH" is Neil Peart, and has been mentioned several times in this thread.

Vinnie is gay, he touched my peepee on purpose once...plus he has a maze of electronics to "enhance" his abilities.
Great band, great guys, but the only real talent is Darrell.

DarkBob 01-30-2004 09:55 PM

Dave Lombardo

yeah. It's just that people like to say Lars or whatever cus they saw him do a solo at a show.

Most people don't get to hear alot of drummers and understand their approaches, etc.

BTW, I thought you were someone else who made a post.

Shok 01-30-2004 10:11 PM

You have to be good to play Jazz well. Most jazz drummers are awsome to listen to.

Also Stewart Copeland is pretty good as well.

Yeah, as I mentioned above. It's impossible to say that anyone is THE BEST.

I can take a bunch of stuff from alot of those guys and just get brain fucked.

Keith Moon??????? Sure he was funny and even fun to watch but you could get any three year old to bang on mommys pot and pans and get the same sound.

angelsofporn 01-30-2004 10:32 PM

Carey gets my overall vote

Paul Markham 01-30-2004 10:40 PM

Ash@phpFX 01-30-2004 11:05 PM

i dont think you can say one is the best, buddy rich caouldnt do what bonham did and bonham couldnt do what buddy did.

My personal favourite is bonham, he was way ahead of his time, he changed rock drumming forever. i also like lars, his skills are shit, but he is a good performer. there are heaps of good drummers out there though.

jimmy degrasso blew my mind at a clinic, it was the best live piece of drumming ive seen in my life

beemk 01-30-2004 11:06 PM

?uest love from the roots is the only one i ever liked, i dont listen to rock though
