Interesting mix there, some I agree with, some I think they are joking about. I wish Automatic For The People made the top 50 but that is my own biast.

Also I am surprised the first Van Halen album didnt make it was ground breaking .

I don't really care for much on that list.

I'm amazed that Slayer's Reign In Blood (one of the most influential, groundbreaking albums of all time) isn't listed there....

we should make an alternative list with the music the reviewers were too afraid to listen to.

i only agreed with about half of the albums.

Nirvana definatly a good pick......Beatles too.....Elvis, of course! These are people that all changed music forever in their own way!!! :thumbsup

yes but it isn't best bands/artists it is best albums...the two don't always go hand in hand. There is a particular art to putting together a group of songs that work as an album. Rather than just putting three singles on an album and filling the rest with 'also rans'.

No Billy Ray Cyrus in that list ... hmmm shame

I agree with 1/3 of them but there are some big gaps. Too many Beatles Albums, Too much Dylan, No Indie, No Hip Hop and No Electronic Music. Damn, they only included one Jazz album which agreeably is the best Jazz album of all time, but damn, there's a hell of a lot more. This list was made for people who don't know shit about music and are closed-minded

The bands that supposedly have too much representation defined music. The Beatles, Dylan, Elvis, they all defined what music would become and set the standards for excellent craftmanship within music, especially the Beatles. Within a six year period they created a revolution in music that has yet to be topped. Has there ever been an electronica album that influenced our culture in any way? I suppose there could have been, but never has an electronica album had any sort of social impact, which is something these 50s, 60s, and 70s rockers did all the time.

I think the list looked at what impact these albums had on the music world and the world in general. Sgt. Pepper's sounds like a lot of other albums now, but when it came out it completely revolutionized music. I'm thinking that's why it made the top of the list.

This has got to be the most overrated album of all time. The Beach Boys were NOT musical geniuses! Stop making Brian Wilson out to be a god - he wasn't that talented! This album makes every lame music critic's top 10 - enough already! GRRRR :feels-hot
