Customer charges back after THREE WEEKS?

Just got informed by Verotel that a charge on 8th Jan was disputed and reversed today (30th Jan). I've never seen such a small amount of time between the initial charge and the chargeback... someone is really on their feet. :(

The account was a trial and it was cancelled by him, so it was probably some fucker who decided he would just dispute the $5.95 charge rather than complain that he disliked the site and ask nicely for a refund.

If he was a Chase card holder he may be practicing what they teach in there latest email campaign to all holders. "How to charge back". I don't have the thread handy but that is just a crazy thing to push.

Yes isnt that nice. I am sure thats not what happened in Rowans case but when I read this thread it just made me think about it.

I've checked my logs, and after using the account extensively the first day he returned the next with a 401 on the member's page. Looks like he forgot his login, which is random (supplied by Verotel - and also emailed to them upon signup).

The authentication failure page includes a few short sentences explaining possible reasons for the failure and invites them to email my customer service address.

I don't understand how a chargeback was easier than emailing me...

Wow, that blows. When I wanted to dispute a charge the person I spoke to in the dispute section engaged in a dialog to ensure that I understood what I was requesting, and that I had a legitimate reason for it.

With the online version there's probably 2 pages of T&C that no one reads, they hit the "submit" button and it's all done.
