Why do dogs eat cat turds out of the litterbox?
 

My dog does this almost EVERY day. No matter where I move the litterbox too... He'll always munch away on the turds. WHY!? Sometimes he wont eat certain vegetables.... but he will eat cat feces covered in litter. WHATS UP WITH THAT YO!?

dogs likes stuff that smells... pretty much.

like animal "parts" that's been dead & burried for a while, smells reeeeeeeeeeally reeeeeeeeeeally gross but dogs likes it.

Dogs do that, because they think that this is the best way to get rid of flees or other mofos that bite them all day long. Stink make flees go away. :helpme

I don't know but it's annoying. Just try to scoop whenever you see the cat coming away from the area of the litter box.

The thought of the dog getting up to give me kisses with cat shit on his tongue is just completely disgusting.

My dog used to eat his own shit in the winter. What he'd do is let his shit freeze, then it'd play around with it, flipping it around for a while, then he'd sit down and chomp on it, it was very disturbing to watch, but he's grown outta that now, so maybe it was just a young dog thing.

My dog eats chicken shit, and beleive me, you can tell...

When I had cats a few years back had that same problem.

I'm still trying to figure out why my dog has to first analyze then lick then pee on top of every damn pee spot he finds on his walks.

My gf's dogs eat their own shit. It's really gross when the one pukes the shit up; then you have the smell of the shit and the puke!

well. the dogs are used to clean up nasty shit by nature, like licking wounds and such..even cat shit...

and...my vet once told me, that if a dog eats the same every day, they can lack some sorts of vitamins.. and they will eat cat shit to fill up... ( like eating grass or something..)

i guess the same reason that they eat tampons out of the trash can. who knows?

We had a german shepard that was a great dog till we had our first kid. The day we brought the baby home the dog was a nightmare from then on. He would knock over the diaper pale and scatter poopy diapers all over our home. Most of which were chewed up and partially missing. We couldnt keep him outside when a way because we had this neighbor kid who would grab the dog by the ears and hit it till the dog bit back. Then the parents of the jack ass would call the cops.:feels-hot

Most dogs crave cat food (my dog will climb or jump to most any place I can feed the cat). It's too high in some nutrients that is good for cats and bad for dogs though. Stands to reason they are attracted to the undigested cat food... or catfood scented poop:)

We think alike... this morning I was going to, but didn't have any saran wrap left and had to go too badly to think up a contingency plan.

It's called Coprophagia. I moved in with my ex and the box was ALWAYS clean and I thanked him one day for taking care of it and he said "I didn't go near it"... we come to find out that his lab was eating my cat's poop like biscuits the entire time.
