Dumb Ass Designers...
Let me explaine why I hate you.
First: You are pawns in a rich man's game. You have no clue of what balance you hold in the fate of companies on almost all levels of design development. What you create is invaluable and often a key to some of the success. However... You usually completely fuck yourselves in the long run. You under charge for your services whether you live in Korea, or the Czech your services are totally cheap and I outsource and take complete advantage of you. Think about that? If a designer referr's out work to you cause your so fucking cheap your doing something wrong or I am doing something right until you realise it. Since 1996 and a bit earlier I have built for and worked for the largest companies the fucking net has ever known. I've helped make many men rich with my work and idea's not just on the design level but on strategic levels as well that involve design. Second: I never got much for it until I started my own things. I am only this biz for maybe another 2 years tops. I got my retirement all set up. I can retire tomarrow and not give a fuck about any of this. All the while most you designers attempting to make way will never be as lucky as me as each of you copy each other and not look at the bigger picture for your own success. I love you dumb fucks otherwise I wouldnt hate on ya. Third: You have no clue about skills needed to help create true success. Optimizing your designs, doing counts of images, the correction of images for use in design. Hows browsers actually read HTML and accelerating download times with crafty coding. Ultimatly your fucked up designs are fucking up great companies. You think "Click here for free access" are the words of god but it is a good example of how retarded most of you are. Fourth: You wannabe designers don't give a fuck about the long term of our industry and the damage you contribute to it. All them scammers out there that have wrecked our industry designs have been supplied to. I have seen plenty of design done for scammers and often I can even identify who the designer is that supplied them. Thats pretty fucked up don't ya think? I do. As a creative individual knowledgeable of the industry you goto know when to say NO. But you don't and contribute to the symphonie of destruction. Fifth: Why the fuck are your reading this? Get the fuck out of here and study up on design. There is no need for you here. You think I give a fuck whether or not my sig gets clicked and I get business from it? Either way I do not care. Busines is business but I do not do the kinda business that fucks up our industry and I certainly do not base my drumming up of good clients on my sig. So again. Learn and read the fucking manual on not only how to design but understand viability of the industry your trying to work in. Sixth: You probly do not understand a fucking thing I said... But if ya did ya might have a little respect for an old timer that stands to help you. You think I crack open photoshop every day? Well I do, but often enough I am relegating out work and teaching other designers how to do shit... So... Suck my cock its not that hard ya just goto pay attention on how shit works to be successful. |
yes most designers are idiots. the ones that know what makes people join are the ones making $100k+ a year just a few designs
|
I make my living from pages typed in notepad. Jump off a cliff and see if anyone misses you Mister Designer.
|
I have to agree with you that it is better to pay much more for a better converting design.

There are web designers and then there are artists. I can tell this fella' is passionate about his work ... as I am about mine. But that was a bit much I think :(

I know alot of people here like to think they invented sliced bread, because they've been in the biz since "BEFORE TIME!" (meaning sometime in the mid 90's), but we're talking about a span of time that isn't even a full decade. I have t-shirts older than that. Put it into perspective: #1: That's not alot of time for anything. #2: It's certainly not alot of time for a business that changes dramatically on virtually a weekly (if not daily) basis. I remember when computers didn't exist. There were no fucking computers when I was in school. There was no fucking Internet. We used keypunch cards for fucks sake. And THAT was state of the art! This shit is every bit of the phrase, "in its infancy". Let the old timers brag it up about how they "pioneered" all this shit.... whatever gives someone a sense of self-worth & importance.... doesn't much matter in the long run. The fact is, less than ten years is truly, nothing. |
i feel your pain. kinda.
i've been a professional designer since '89. the repugnant shite that passes for design in this industry is incredible. spectacularly jacked up media. my favorite is the print work. damn. i almost get a fucking seizure looking through avn or avnonline. but your comment about the "Click Here..." crap might be misguided. i've had to make stupid looking shit my whole career. i let go of it a long time ago. that "Click Here..." text is probably at the client's request. i can't tell you how many great designs i've mangled for dumb-ass clients. they fail to realize that the reason they hired me is because i'm the designer, not them - if i choose a font or color it's for a reason. i've done my best to explain color theory to as many people as possible. the rainbow is in the same order every time 'cause that's the visible light spectrum. no way around it. i'm going on my own again after next week. i plan to do a large amount of adult design along with some mainstream. i'm going to charge what the work is worth and i'm going to do my best to raise the bar and get more good design out there in spankville. |

What exactly does being an artist have to do with marketing?

Here is a list of rants that is equal to your thinking: * Why cook hamburgers for free at home when you could be McDonlads? * Why right C++ code for shit money when you could write Windows. * Why play touch football when you could just "join" the NFL * Why fuck a fat bitch when you should be fucking Paris Hilton? Why??????? Because people do what <font size=+3>they</font> can do which is not always what me or you can do. |

Quit playing. We all know you paid top dollar to a designer/ marketing expert to have your site done. |

I don't expect everyone to understand. Realise the value of ability and its potential which obviously you have failed to grasp. Go make some Farm sex sites where you belong.... |

I did and it took a while for me to turn it around. |

Yes, I have to work 5 times as hard for the same money in 96, but this hardly applies to the design industry alone. I think people are faling to see the global recession and effects on the industry. And btw, I've done a hell of other stuff besides sexymojo in the last few years, including alot of mainstream work etc, and I see the same effecs in the advertising industry as I see in porn design, everyone wants more work and wants to pay less money. |
So...
If there are anymore questions about my hatred for wannabe designers, or my "negative attitude" about events in this industry I suggest ya bookmark this bitch and use it for future reference. |
Just a side note..
Alien has done sites that pushes a freakin grip of signups. If you ever heard him talk about why shit works.... You'll know. :) |
fancy designs are to impress affiliates
hot chicks on the tour are for impressing surfers... recently we were sending HGH traffic to a totally fucked up page with bad design, pictures misaligned and fucked up codew....yet it outpulled the "fancy" design better than 2 TO 1! effective design doesn't always mean being a photoshop picasso...effective PROFITABLE design is knowing what sells and having that product....with the hot girls on the tour, the fanciest designs mean little more than dick... |

The mark of an excellent designer, worhty of the title, is the ability to juggle all that and produce the appropriate solution for any given scenario. Everything else is just bs. |
I'm not a gallery designer...I'm a gallery stylist.
:glugglug There's a reason I have that on my page...some people get it..others don't. ;) |
