Good new about Visa
Visa may not comprise such a large share of CC transactions in a couple of years. One reason they control so much is that they didn't allow banks that issued their cards to issue Amex and Discover. That's over now.

The ruling was over 2 years ago... hasn't changed much yet.
They can send Discover cards all they want to their customers. It won't help much if they don't send Discover-capable terminals to their merchants... and other banks' merchants as well. |
Scenerio of cards:
What ever card gets in control of the industry, VISA, MasterCard, Discovery.... It does not matter they will still have to control the porn industry. There were so many people that were not legit in the industry that the FBI wanted to follow up that they only choice they had was to go to VISA and work with them to control it.... If it's changes to another card the same will happen to keep things in order.:2 cents: |

It's true even if you got a Discover card from every bank that you had a VISA its accepted at just about nowhere.
However, regulations for porn to some extent are good to keep scammers out, give back some confidence to the buying public that they can purchase a membership without being taken for a trip, and over all keep things in check. Problem is drawing the line and them getting carried away with regulations. |
If things like this keep happening, the porn industry will eventually be black-balled 100% from card proccessing.

This would be good news if Amex started accepting adult transactions again. Since they do not every Amex card issued to replace a VIsa or MC is one less potential buyer.
