Police: Actress Runs Over Elderly Woman
Givens Issued Traffic Ticket

MIAMI -- A 90-year-old woman is in critical but stable condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami after being struck by an SUV driven by Mike Tyson's ex-wife, Robin Givens, police said. The victim has been identified as Maria Antonia Alcover.

Witnesses said that around 6:20 Wednesday evening, Alcover was crossing Biscayne Boulevard near the intersection of Northeast 79th Street. They said she had gotten about half way across the street when the light changed. At that point a southbound Mercedes SUV that had stopped at the red light, proceeded through the intersection when the light turned green.

Police say the victim fell backward and her right foot, which landed underneath the still moving SUV, was nearly severed.

The driver of the vehicle continued on before realizing that witnesses were trying to flag her down. It was at that point that police say she realized she had hit someone.

That driver was later identified as 39-year-old Robin Givens. Police say Givens was very shaken by the experience and showed concern for the victim.

Miami Police spokesman Delrish Moss said Givens was issued a traffic ticket for failing to use due care when a pedestrian is in the crosswalk. It carries a fine of about $60 to $70.

Givens is going to get her ass sued, just like every other famous person that does something stupid. Justin Guarini, of American Idol I fame, had a jet ski accident and was sued.

Rebecca Gayheart killed a child with her SUV while talking on her cell phone and not stopping at the stop sign the school bus pops out while the kids cross the street.

some congressmaa for utah(maybe wrong) ran someone over and killed them and got either 30days in jail or probation

Rebecca Gayheart (the Noxema girl) settled a wrongful death suit with the 9 year old boys familly. I belive she did some traffic school or community service.

That story made me ill when it happend. She was in a big hurry, too much of a hurry to stop for a school bus. She ran through a cross walk!! That was someone's little boy!!

That is so awful, I am surprised I had not read about it. Yep I can relate I have two boys and whenever they go to the bus stop I always tell them .... watch for cars because they might not watch for you. That is very sad that happen to that little boy. :(
