I'm talking playing, watching baseball while growing up. There was nobody more exciting and showed so much love for the game than Pete Rose

You've got a point there. I'm just saying he's a scumbag and I wish he was dead. I don't dispute the fact that he was a great player. The man made more of his talent than any other athlete in history.

Pete Rose is afucking liar. He is a horrible person. however You get in the hall on what you did on the field.

Instead, I saw him in the late 80's when he was the worst hitter in the Reds line up, hitting 3rd, taking away at bats from developing players so that he could attain personal glory by breaking longevity records. Even worse is that he was the Reds manager, in a position where he was supposed to be doing the best for the team.

Also, that mop has to go. Probably the worst lid of any current or former athlete.

Based on his numbers he should go to Coopers Town.

Bud Selig would be utterly idiotic to let him manage again, the man still goes to the horse track every week. He still has a gambling problem, so he can't come anywhere near the game.

When you are the manager of a professional sports team and you bet on your own sport, on your own team, you have a gambling problem. The guy is banned for gambling yet he shows up at casinos and tracks to sign copies of his "apology" book. He's either highly delusional or criminally stupid.

Could you be any more delusional about Pete Rose. He gambles on everything. He avoids paying his taxes so he can gamble (he went to jail for that by the way). He wrote a shitty book so he could get money for gambling. He broke the one rule in sports that gets you banned for life. He has a huge problem that he has never solved and he never will.

Johnny Bench was better than Pete Rose, and that's just on the Reds. I think it's overstating it to say that he carried baseball for a decade and a half.

A great player like Pete, doesnt need to be in the Hall of Fame to be known as a great player.

Shoeless Joe Jackson was a great player as well and is still known as that, even if you never saw the man play.

If they let Pete in the hall they should let Shoeless Joe in. He was twice found not guilty of throwing the world series, and yet he's still banned.

baseball lost so much money since banning Pete Rose. the all time hit-record used to mean the most next to career home runs.


No one can beat Pete's hits record so there no talk about. even when a player gets 3,000 career hits now it's a second page story.

watching him as a kid playing baseball showed me what you had to do to be the best at what you do.
