webgurl 01-29-2004 12:29 AM

Its been 2 months for me , i am afraid to go back i am reallllllllllly out of shape and i gained 5 pounds :(

montel 01-29-2004 12:29 AM

drink protein powder and go back in 48 hours. try to go every day and you won't feel so bad afterwards.

GonePhishing 01-29-2004 12:31 AM

Yeah, the start up cost of working out is a bitch the first few times you get going after a long layoff.

Stewie 01-29-2004 12:31 AM

I religiously think real hard, at least 3 days a week, about someday getting to the gym. :winkwink:

If it's his first workout in a month he won't need protein...by the sounds of it he doesn't want to gain lots of muscle, but just to be in shape

12 years since i've been.

A nice 115 lbs... (and 5'6")

Holly 01-29-2004 12:33 AM

I haven't been going as regularly for the last few months and I went day before yesterday and did some leg stuff and now my quads are killing me. It hurts just to walk, and god forbid I should have to go down the stairs. I'd almost rather fall down them head first.

detoxed 01-29-2004 01:06 AM

I went tonight, my arms are feeling good

adamneve 01-29-2004 01:07 AM

how will creatine work?

galleryseek 01-29-2004 01:09 AM

1. eat right (lots of protein, lots of water)
2. rest (do not work out the same muscle groups until they're not sore, generally once a week for a muscle group is standard)

stretch before and after workouts.

Creatine is unnecessary unless you want to be a bodybuilder...it just helps your body retain water and gives you that bloated look

Nothing wrong, with a dose of creatine ;)

Marie 01-29-2004 01:35 AM

Adam...! Did you forget to stretch?

Ah well, just take a hot bath, or go to the sauna, and get someone to give you a great massage...

xxxoutsourcing 01-29-2004 01:42 AM

Lactic Acid build up.....

Hot bath or Suana right after the GYM.
Cod liver oil tablets and vitamin c will help get rid of the lactic acid, which is why you ache.

ModelPerfect 01-29-2004 01:52 AM

Eat some bananas...potassium=good

galleryseek 01-29-2004 01:56 AM

also...

i've heard rubbing the sore areas (or having a loved one do it, because they'd have to love you in order to do this) with a cloth soaked with your own piss.

doing this will help bring extracted nutrients through the pores which makes the muscles heal quickly.

tell us how it goes.

UR muscles and the rest of UR body will only adjust the loading of the workout, if ya give them some regeneration time. 12 to 24h if u are a competitive athlete or 24 to 48 h if u just want to get kind a fit.
U should also take some protein and water and a hot bath or sauna.:glugglug

pradaboy 01-29-2004 04:17 AM

enough sleep, high protein intake...

there are some supps on the market that can make you recover faster :2 cents:

rip raster 01-29-2004 04:36 AM

Wow.. weird - everyone started going back to the gym at the same time.

I had been away since the beginning of December when I caught that god awful flu. Monday was the first day back. Took it easy on chest, but doing back on Tuesday, I felt so strong.. now I'm paying for it. (sigh)
