Mac or Windows/IBM pc's

I Have a IBM Aptiva my gf has a Mac. I use both but the Mac i think is far supperior. If Bill Gates' produces have any good features he stoled it from Apple.

iroc409 01-28-2004 07:27 PM

it again all depends on your situation. you can't entirely condemn the pc either merely because of microsoft.

the mac has its strong points, but the intelligence, genious and biz sense coming from microsoft really is unmatched from a software vendor. in the past few years microsoft has greatly improved its software.

i wouldn't say either is better necessarily, it just depends on your application.

on another note, i see ibm is starting to push linux pretty hard again...

bhutocracy 01-28-2004 07:29 PM

blah blah blah the only good mac features were stolen from xerox and freebsd lol

heh, i'm not trying to bash macs here, and i'm not in full support of microsoft or it's practices. (especially the recent tcg rumors)

but who has the biggest market share, some of the most comprehensive and robust business and productivity apps? who has the most-duplicated and sought-after technology in software? who made it easy to run a computer and bring it into everyone's home so they could use it with ease?

while apple sits around outsourcing and leasing technology of others, and spends their r&d on how to make a prettier box ;)

i rest my case :glugglug

The answer to all your questions was Apple. That's funny. There are some interesting comments by Steve Jobs recently that help put it all into perspective about MS and Apple when they had that shitty run for about 10 years while Jobs was not a part of the company. I should see if I can find it.

tyler86ed 01-28-2004 07:51 PM

I have both. I love my Apple, but I can't eliminate my PC totally. There are to many apps on PC that you can not get for apple.

Shoehorn! 01-28-2004 07:57 PM

Bill Gates stole most of his ideas from competitors like Xerox and Apple. Macs are the best.

Very true. I plan on getting a super computer soon and when I do, I'll just get the Virtual PC software from Microsoft. The best of both worlds :thumbsup

We were at Microcenter today (my favorite store) , the macs look nice but they are so fucking expensive and they are cheap on giving ram .Like I shouldnt pay $3000 for a desktop and only get 256mb of ram. For the same $3000 I can get a pc with a dual xeron cpu's with HT so it acts like 4 cpu's and at least a gig of ram , a couple of sata hard drives.

I know Macs I brokered used Macs for about a year for one of the biggest companies for used macs in the usa.
