1U Servers versus 1U Mini Servers?! Anyone?
I ordered 5 Mini Servers
Pentiums 4 , 2.5 Mghz 1 gig of ram 1U are twice bigger and you can put an extra harddrive(which i dont need) 1U mini are shorter and consume less power (180 vs 330) any other comments? |
If you're looking at conserving space, go with BladeServers.
|
where did you order this from? I'm not familiar with a micro 1u. So is it just not as deep? There's no way that it could be any less tall as a heat sink wouldn't fit on the processor.

If you dont' mind me asking where are you buying your servers from? I'm looking for a really good place to get servers from

The physical size of the server has very little to do with the power consumption. spamofon, what is the intended use of these servers? There aren't many applications where they would be better than a standard 1U server. |

server blades are nice but they are so damn expensive like damn near 2k for a normal size blade nothing real special
|
seems like they'd get really hot.
