Not sure. Possibly its all for more exposure or perhaps they really do spend that much money.

well not very many being sold at those prices.

look how many members there are here vs high priced sigs i bet high priced sigs are less then a 1% ratio.

When somebody here has 16-20 thousand posts - it means that they spend a hell of a lot of time here posting. That means a shit load of people see their posts "and" the attached sigs.

I for one NEVER pay attention to the banners at the top of the page - most of them are fucking irritating with their noises and shit. But I always see what's in someones sig -

All in all - I think it's good for everyone involved!

K, but if anyone actually paid someone $8,500 for a 30 day sig place, then that guy should have his head put on a spear and put outdie GFY to inspire fear with any new hordes of morons on their way.

Of course no one actually paid 8500 for a sig space, but the hype is win/win for both parts. (ooow the poor guy doesn't know shit about GFY) sure :thumbsup

When you tihnk about it, it is great advertising. Gets your product out to a large audience.

Yeah, there's no doubt that some people on here have lots of clout and there sig space is valuable, but I find it hard to believe that there is any company paying more then 3k.

I never worry about what the other guy gets. If his bank account backs up his claims of sugarcookies or 8k, more power to him. Them. Whatever.

Just as I thought. Nobody sold there sig for 8k. It's all Hype.

It's all about name branding. There are certain people that have high post and can stir a little shit. How many times do you see a pop corn thread and hit f5 for about a hour. I know I have I know there certain sponsor I have joined because I saw it in a thread like that. And came back at a later date because people where talking about the sponsor conversion. It's well used money if used on the right person.

Hmm.... I guess it's a matter of numbers.

It's $2500 a month to have your banner at the top of this board (or so I've heard).

it's in a rotation of what... 10 - 15 or even more? Which means that you're likely to see that banner twice in a day, unless you tend to post a LOT.

So, you consider, at the top of the page, you'll see it once... IF you even ever look up there. I know I do occasionally, but not everday.

However, I DO look at the posts. I happen to check out some posts more than others... like say.... AaronM's.

Now, I'm MUCH more inclined to go and read Aaron's posts... of which there could be 5... 6.... 20 in a thread. Including other people's posts obviously. I'm specifically GOING TO HIS POST.

I don't have to look up at the top of the board... away from the threads or posts. I'm FOCUSING on his post... and therefore, on his sig. You can argue that you might not really look, but you don't have much choice if you plan on scanning down to the replies under it.

AaronM's sig will get 1000% OR MORE eyes across it than a banner at the top of the board... in heavy rotation.

So, $2500 for a banner at the top.... or pay $3k or more for that 1000% more eyes thing?
