Exclusive content: what do you think about this idea?
 

We're looking to launch a new idea: an exclusive content pre-paid service, same as pre-paid medicine or prepaid legal services.
Well, the idea would be to give access to members to this service to discounts up to 50% over our already ultra-low prices. How? Well, that's where organization comes and I won't say a word on this.
So, with a $1000 fee you could get a max of 5 b/g hardcore or bj sets, or 8 solo sets. Pics or video, or half that amount but both pics and videos. But then, if you need more than that at that incredible price, you're entitled to an additional 20% on that content OR any other kind of content (with 20% off our regular prices). On top of that, we're thinking on even more advantages, which leads me to ask for some feedback on this:

1) would you join a service like this?
2) what would you like to see offered besides exclusive content?
3) would you prefer this low price (1000), an even lower one (thus less content and less discount) or a higher price to let this service available for only a few persons?
4) what do you see as pros and cons (if any)?

How many licenses will you sell? I can't see how you could make a profit off only getting 1k for that amount of content:2 cents:

As for licenses... I said exclusive, that means 1 (one) license. How I do my profit is my problem, but I get advantage of a concatenation of variables. Anyway, all my customers know that I always deliver full IDs, contracts and everything as if my customer has shot the content. What they do with it, I couldn't care less, I don't even get a record unless there's an specific request to do it (of course I've backup of IDs and such, but not the contracts since I deliver'em, and models won't sign 2 of a kind for a single set, they're not stupid)

Harv, you know I consider you one of the top guys to make biz with, but I think you've to make some adjustments in this idea. For one, I'd make the content a little more expensive for a start, then go down that 20%. Not because I want to pay more, but because I don't want all newbies jump on something like this and get a saturated market. I told you this before, telling it again, will tell it always: don't go too low, make'em pay for your work. Just let's chat on ICQ, I've a couple suggestions you may find useful and don't want to tell them in public

For the record, whatever Harvey decides to do with this, he's the most honest and hard working person I ever met and his stuff rocks even compared to top content producers, just check his site, he even adquired technical expertises no content shooter has such as UW filming :thumbsup

Your post isn't clear to me. Are you offering $1000 for 5 exclusive video scenes every month? Locked into a 3 or 6 month contract or something like that?

Your idea could shoot you in the foot. The problem with "Specials" is that your existing clients buy them and they would have bought anyway. So with a little bit of new business coming in you actually lose money.

I may go to affering one of our "Specials" only to those who registered within the last seven days. Everyone on the list has been spammed and told about them so if they did not buy that is there fault. :) And the new guy gets an incentive to buy and see how our content and service works.

When Phoenix did it, it wasn't exlusive. For exclusive, that's a really great price, but how custom can you get? I would not buy a facial scene for example. Unless it's something we need, we can't use it. Anyhow, I think it's a viable idea, just gotta be very specific. And one thing I hate is when I buy from a content place and 2 weeks later they sell all their stuff for half what I paid for a few of their sets. So, I'd recommend you keep the pricing consistent and don't do special deals when you're hard up for cash. I think that shows little respect for the people who bought them from you at full price. Rambling now..

Catalina, I don't think you're understanding the concept of custom content. Custom is that you ask for something you need, then it's made following your specs. As for prices, that's kinda a ballpark, just an idea for now, maybe we won't even do it. And for selling content later... as stated above, we don't keep anything, not even the miniDV, so how would we sell the content later? We work a little different to other content providers since the beginning, that means: only exclusive custom content shot as if the customer is the one shooting the content. Once the content is made, we deliver everything and it's like we never even made the content. There are even content providers who buys our content, I know their profit is way higher than ours, but I couldn't care less, I mind my own biz :) Anyway, Catalina, feel free to contact us if you need more info on how we work or check our site at http://www.onlyex.com for our current prices, you'll see they're not very far of these new prices :)
