If you were going to elope, where would you go?
 

I'm contiplating elopinng for valentines day. Need some good ideas are where to go... And please dont say vegas. I've been there enough to know I dont wana elope there....

Keep in mind it has to be something that I can book for this valentines day today. I know most will be booked, but still....

I'd like to do it somewhere where theres a shitload of snow... A place where we could rent our own cabin with fireplace for the romance....

try looking up the availabilities for Mont-Tremblant or Saint-Sauveur a little north of Montreal. Very beautiful. Espescially Mont-Tremblant.

Another small place is Gatlinburg, Tennessee. They have lots of really pretty wedding chapels for the quick thing. No waiting period, no blood tests. It's in the mountains and you can rent a chalet there. Almost all have hottubs in them and the scenery is great. I have a friend who's skiing there right now at Ober Gatlinburg and she says it beautiful. They also have a winter lights thing going through Feb. with 2 mil lights. They do all kinds of couple stuff during Feb. Very romantic.

I would give my vote to Niagara Falls if you can get married there. Out of any place in the world, that's where I would go for my honeymoon.

Check out Mont Tremblant in Quebec, not too far from Montreal. It may be close enough for you to drive.

I am with Holly. Gatlinburg is one of the best places to go to elope. My husband and I got married their almost 9 yrs ago. It cost us a grand total of $72.00. We saved all of our money for the honeymoon. We rented a chalet with a 8 person hot tub, fireplace, pool table and a wonderful view. If you are looking for romance this is the place to go.

Hey Headless...this one isn't all that far from you. Not too sure what would be involved with getting married in New Paltz, but the Mohonk Mountain House is the cozy, fireplace kinda spot you were looking for.

Looks pretty nice, I've been near there several times and have been to Banff, but never went in to Lake Louise... but the pics are breathtaking. Don't know about the instant wedding situation there though. You may have to do a drive-thru Vegas-style somewhere and then head off to a resort.
