ebay sellers - question

Would you recommend doing a 1 day auction for a product? Or is sticking to 5 - 7 days better...

(Im putting up a digital camera)

Are you in a hurry to sell it? If not, I would go with a 7-day auction. But, if you are in need of the money, do a one day'er.

Longer auction will get more views and theoretically more bids. What you are hoping for is a couple bids before the last day, that way on the last day, it will go a little higher than if you just did a one day auction.

Also, if you use Buy It Now, you want as many days as possible for people to buy it that way.

I'd go with 5 days..

You're gonna get serious bidders within the remaining 2-3 days anyway.. Before that, it's just bidders who think they will actually get your Digital Camera for 2$

What he said:glugglug If you only make a one day auction you take a chance of not getting many bids.

I think the best choice is to do a 5 or 7 day auction.....with a bargain buy it now price.

Usually someone will snatch it up right away if the BIN price is a good deal. But if no one does, then you can at least ride out the 5/7 days and hope for the best.

edit....damn people post quick.....

I do the best with 7 day auctions, I figure I'm usually dumping my junk so I can wait a week.

5 day auctions work well for me 1 day is too short and you will end up getting less for your goods
