Holy shit, I got a PR 5 site !!!
 

Heh, just noticed this today, after I downloded the Google Toolbar.
I have no idea how this happened.
My old site, that wasn't updated for almost a year, suddenly got PR 5 ( it was PR 3 before and even that made me courius why, since there are only about two sites linking to it ).
Does it mean, I will get some traffic from google now ?

This may sound stupid, but I was never really in the SE game ( PPC SE's if anything ) yet I always hear ppl talking about PR's. :glugglug

check some google searches for related keywords see what kind of spots you got.

I will check, but this site was never really optimised for keywords.

It was created by a friend in the Uni lab 2 years ago, since I had no knowledge about HTML at all when i started.

I would't keep it alive if I hadn't a sentiment for that site and domain. :winkwink:

It only means congrats on having a pr five. Depending on what key phrase you are targeting, and how you fall in the SERPS you will get more google traffic.

pr=5 isn't a fantastic result. the good one starts at 6 imho.

google doesnt know what the fuck its doing... I have a legit site with tons of inbound links and the PR went from 6 to 4 this update....


All the backlinks are still there and theres nothing fishy going on with the domain/IP

Seems off to me... but this same thing has happened before and the PR woudl return to normal within a week or so... I guess I will just have to wait. The fact that the IPs of all of their backend servers have changed leads me to believe somthing is going on.

Google prefers if you do not submit. I have a page with all of 2 links to it on the entire internet with a PR4. I didn't ever submit it to any search engine or dmoz. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least.

I registered my domain in august 2003 and pagerank climb up from 0 to 4 in 3 months.
I guess after 3 month more my pagerank will be 8. :eek2
