New Virus Tonight Might Have A Keylogger
Symantec's engineers are saying the MyDoom virus has a keylogging program in it.
McAfee's engineers haven't found it in the code. Be careful either way, its worldwide and still progating like a nuclear reaction. This is the first time I've seen McAfee do 2 virus DAT file updates in a single day. That's ultra serious time. :BangBang: |
Thanks for the heads up..downloading updates :thumbsup
|
got the virus in a email from a MGP that I submitted to earlier today. Good thing my ISP blocks all that stuff.
|
Yeah I got 2 Norton auto-updates today as well. The sad thing is that the people without protection and old people who open up every attachment they get, keep things like this going longer than they should.

updating now

So maybe Mac too. |
if people are stupid enough to still open random email attachments, they shouldn't be online to begin with. then again they are probably the same people who sign up for most adult sites, so what the fuck am i talking about.

I wondered why macafee was clogging up my boot up today... :)
I'm surprised this hasn't been tried before. Windows makes it VERY easy to get access to all keystrokes, open windows, and event calls through the Win32 API. Anybody want a plug-in that steals passwords, substitutes ref-codes, sucks down your entire address book, sets up an open port, and sends all info to an anonymous free host somewhere? :Graucho Start the bidding!!! j/k |
Sig whoring check, 1... 2... 1... 2...
|
tnx
|
I haven't been able to access my mail server for the past hour, I think it's getting slammed. Not good. It feels like a regular spam day * 1000.
|
thats messed up- but i am glad that all their coders quickly reacted to the threat :)

"When the machine gets infected, the worm will set up a backdoor into the system by opening TCP ports 3127 thru 3198"
frequently scanned port, always use a firewall |
Get a server side mail scanner, even a free one http://www.sng.ecs.soton.ac.uk/mailscanner/, and you won't get a single virus email.

So you can only get this if you actually open the attatchment? What's to worry about then?
