How are you doing now that google has gone nuts?

I personally lost 14 mainstream sites, they completley vanished from my targeted keywords. Now I can only find them if I combine several keywords together.
Damn you Big G! :ak47:

Spunky 01-26-2004 08:48 PM

Strange..I'm getting more traffic :thumbsup

GonePhishing 01-26-2004 08:49 PM

We improved some. Mostly staying the same though.

FreshC 01-26-2004 08:50 PM

I'm glad somebody is :thumbsup
Hope it keeps up for ya, I'm going back to the drawing board

Head 01-26-2004 08:50 PM

I don't seem to be having any problems

JoeA 01-26-2004 08:50 PM

My best site totally vanished from the #1 spot for quite a few search terms :(

Though the spammer who took over has also gone but I now have more images linked to the search than I did before so win one and lose quite a few more :(

sixxxth_sense 01-26-2004 08:51 PM

better than ever

beemk 01-26-2004 08:51 PM

i got fucked

DBS.US 01-26-2004 08:52 PM

My new girlfriend works at Google. I told her to send traffic my way so I can make money and spend it on her. :winkwink:

bignasty 01-26-2004 08:53 PM

i went from a couple thousand uniques from search engines a day down to about 20 a day.

FreshC 01-26-2004 08:55 PM

I don't think that I am going to touch the old sites that vanished, they may come back when google changes something again. Time to get off my ass and start making sites again.

slapass 01-26-2004 08:56 PM

This sucks. Traffic has doubled but conversions are lower so making the same $$$.

tranza 01-26-2004 08:57 PM

My Google traffic is down by at least 80%.....

WTF did they do??

Something major. I have noticed the biggest impact on sites where the anchor text for all backlinks is the same.

I think I know what they did ... and it's not just for adult sites either! If I am right then a lot of people will be relearning how to optimise for google.

FreshC 01-26-2004 09:03 PM

At least after the Florida update my sites only droped a page or two in the SE results, but now they have completely vanished from relevant keywords. Now they are replaced with mostly irrelevant sites. If it stays like this google is going to loose alot of surfers. I just hope the smoke clears soon so we will know where we stand.

Damian_Maxcash 01-26-2004 09:11 PM

no..... Im still not making any money

PornHero 01-26-2004 09:18 PM

I lost a few of my top spots but gained traffic in other areas, I have kept my average daily income the past 2 days according to my statsremote so hopefully i'll be ok. I am not changing any of my sites for the time being.

I must say they really screwed alot of people who only have one or 2 domains in both adult and mainstream areas.

wtfent 01-26-2004 09:29 PM

My google traffic is down about 60% but my yahoo traffic improved about 10%. What the hell is going on?

Mr Pheer 01-26-2004 09:40 PM

My stuff stayed stable and PR is higher across the board.

xxxjay 01-26-2004 10:23 PM

only took 3 years

cluck 01-26-2004 10:26 PM

LOL - try again 999! :)
Jay, you've got mail...

BTW: I got fucked, but only in reduced PR on a new site. Just dropped from PR5 to PR3 over night.

cluck 01-26-2004 10:28 PM

Actually.. shit.. my favorite domain went from a 6 to a 3 after getting reindexed. Traffic's stable though. Probably just alot of backlinks from other sites dropped out.

That shit happens. Give it another update and I bet you will go back to 5.

You might want to check who you are linking. If they are pulling shady shit - you may also be suffering for it.

Likewise, we'll definitely need to party more at Cheetah's :)

Roger 01-26-2004 10:42 PM

Now even if I put the name of my website in the search field, it gives me totally unrelated stuff.

I spent plenty of time there...where were you? lol

FreshC 01-26-2004 10:52 PM

I've read some speculation that linking your own sites together that have the same text or layout is being negatively ranked with the new update. Well then how is it that for everyone of my keywords one site comes up #1 now? And it is a subdomain that is linked to about 100 more subdomains of the same site? Doesn't make sense :eek7

Hmmmm good advice. I'll check my list of outbound links. I think they are pretty well respected folks and sites that aren't fucking around.

Some of the best performing sites after this update are linklists like Jay's and they have a lot of inbound links with idential anchor text as well as massive internal cross linking, so I don't think thats entirely true.

PR went up across the board, but traffic went down a tad.

I've gone down from PR6 to PR4 in a month.

petepete 01-26-2004 11:53 PM

Maybe it's time to stop playing with doorways and start building content rich sites...

My adult sites - almost no change (but rather slightly up)... while non-adult stuff benefited a lot after the last update!

sacX 01-26-2004 11:56 PM

down maybe 4-5% no drama..

Jamie 01-27-2004 12:27 AM

still holding at 30,000 uniques a day :) PR went down on a flagship site but traffic is up.. shrugs

xxxjay 01-27-2004 12:33 AM

my links site is sitting at 70k without any scripted trades
