The value of a domain is what one person is willing to pay for it! All it takes is ONE person to see the value in a domain that others think is ridiculously high.

Secure whois and domain lock at: http://networkresources.com Not the cheapest or the most expensive, but a great control panel for all your domains. Plus helps a fellow webmaster. Hide your ID while still being legal!!! Your Secure Whois! |
How do you know it sold for that?
I was looking on the website but didn't see any news... Terry |

Isn't that a blatant trademark infringement? I'd expect to see a C&D any time.

i wonder how real it is that someone paid 30k for it. if it was worth that they would have just sent the traffic to ND and made more. unless they wouldnt accept it... |
I knew it.
It also had high bids on Name Winner. I was bidding only $400 :Graucho Oh well, but I think the traffic is as not high as some ppl think. Overture 2k not always means much traffic. Nevertheless I've noticed that some ppl pay really ridicolous prices for expiring domains. Mostly PPC SE's owners. They try to get all the names with traffic and pay ridicoloud prices for them. I think lesbin.com, a domain with no more than probably 30 type-ins per day, was backordered through Pool for about $4k. That makes no sense. Sure, type-in traffic is great, but paying $4k for 30 uniques daily and for a mispell?! Wtf, even KRL wouldn't pay that much :warning BTW, those stupid PPC SE owners, on the one hand, pay the most for the type-in domains, on the other they are in some way destroyign this market and decreasign the domain value. When someone types-in a domain, he's looking for something particular. If he types in 9 times some domains and gets only similar search pages, with pop up hells, he will next time search for something through Google and that's why the traffic on type-in domains will probably decrease in future. |
i am speechless
this is unbelievable |
I still don't know how you guys know it sold for 30k.. .could somebody explain that too me?
Also, how would you know it was getting 2000 hits on overture per day? Terry |

Why don't you contact the guys who bought mikesappartment.com and ask them if they want to buy it? In that case they will eventually have to deal with the lawsuit from.... ah, you know what i am talking about :Graucho |

i'm sure once the whois info is u, that asshole is going to get tons of emails from people trying to sell their domains (including but not limited to me lol)
|
mistype values are directly proportional to your ability to determine whether a mistype has a high volume of occurence. Get out the dictionary, get your friends, study the keyboards, look at stats and make a decision. As for infringement, yes if a trademark, no if it's somewhat generic. Consider all these teen sites, 'teenxyz.com' this is too generic in my opinion to be trademarked as there can be thousands of teens with some given name..
|
I will sell you cumfiiesta.com for half that, post bids here :Graucho
|
You can sell me cumfiestas.com for $400 :Graucho
|
I guess we can expect a $50k expired domain name transaction soon...

I would think it maybe have around 700-800 typeins, this kind of traffic converts pretty good.
But over $30k..... Pool.com sure is pleased about that one :winkwink: |
