Members Area / Content Management Software

Can anyone reccomend some good members area / content management software?

Preferably something pre-written / off the shelf - but if you've got experience programming in this area, post your details anyhow..

aConMan is popular and free.
It's made with friggin PHP, the Open Source project designed to
create more security risks than even Microsoft can make.
It's one of those that's just darn good, though, so I'd use it even though
it's written in a really crappy language.

let me know if you need any help with installation or customization.

reminds me of another thread that seemed to ask the same question less than a week ago, I'll give the same answer, your member's area management tools and control mechanism are usually (always?) provided by your payment processor.

AWW doesn't do everything Updatem does.

Updatem doesn't do everything AWW does.

I don't even view them as being competing products exactly.

If you like Updatem, you could actually use it with AWW if you really wanted to.

Updatem focuses on a providing a specific function and doing it in a manner that is simple to use and understand.

Updatem costs much less than AWW for companies with more than 3 domains to support (based on AWW's old pricing).

Updatem will also be offering full source code to those purchasers that request it in 2005 - perhaps sooner.

Updatem is simply an easy and affordable solution to delivering pre-scheduled PER USER updates to your members.

-- with user rating system & detailed stats on the back end so you can easily identify your most popular updates.

Btw, several of our clients as well as our sites were using this function written by us back in 98/99 - 5 years ago.

Does anyone who uses Awiz or Siteman speak up and say what they like/don't like about them?

Does someone have a price on Siteman?

candyflip 01-27-2004 01:40 PM

I've seen Monolith in action and it rocks. Not only is it a CMS, it's an affiliate manager. Costs a heck of a lot less than an MPA2/MAS combo.

They're finishing up the final testing and it should be ready in the next 10 days or so. Talk to Fletcher and he give you a look see.

hit me up if you are looking for a more customizable system (ACMS) , we have a custom written internal solution working for over a year, that manage's internal and external area's propagates... does everything MAS and content god does an alot more. user rating and updates specifc to users easy... plus alot of other dynamic features I Would be glad to discuss.

the key to this sytem is with minimal PHP knowledge you can can build custom code for it with an SIMPLE api, nothing complex at all first month php programmers could add it. (if you understand the blocks concept of php/post nuke you know what I am talking about)

It says "The script is jpeg, gif, mpeg, avi, txt compatible"... I'm wondering if they've added .wmv since writing that.
