Can women tell the difference between real diamonds and cubic zirconia?
just wondering
|
yes
|
Maybe if they had one of each, side by side. Otherwise I think most would have difficulty. My other half is a gemstone fancier and she has difficulty.
But their jeweller certainly can tell :) Freeze |
I forget what it's called but there's a new synthetic diamond that's fairly cheap that there is no fucking way they can tell the difference.

Yes, it's a gene we're born with. It's also referred to as "I found out you bought me cheap shit you bastard and now I'm going to humiliate you and make you suffer for it for the rest of your life".
|
Holly, I am very threatened by you.

digipimp, there is ways to tell the difference between the new "cultured" diamonds from Apollo and Gemesis. Although many jewelers could be fooled. With Gemesis stones, they have small hints of magnetism in them, put a magnet near the stone and you'd see. Both companies will regulate their stones from what i have heard. Either way, there is always GIA.
CZ stones have more of a blueish/rainbowish fire in them, anyone with any kind of experience can tell the difference quite easily. the new stones like digipimp has mentioned could cause problems. |

back to your title, most women cant. but over time, if the CZ stone was inserted in an engagement ring. the CZ stone will wear down, crack, or have more of a dull fire to it. But earrings don't get banged around as much, so sometimes they can get passe doff as studs to women.
either way, let your girl know what she's wearing. |
For those of you saying yes: you have no fucking clue, do you??
It's impossible to tell the difference between them just by looking at them... |

digipimp, theres a cool diamond company from Canada that has their whole marketing campaign about not being blood diamonds. The stones are mined in Canada, and each stone has a polar bear on the girdle. http://siriusdiamonds.com/ |

with the needle suggestion, you could also place the CZ on its table over a line on a piece of paper. if you can see the line through the stone, its a CZ. (this is just a quick way of checking)
|
of course they do. it's called taking it to their favorite jewlist and asking for an appraisal. and believe me. bitches do that shit all the time.

I took my wife to the jewelry store and let her pick out her own diamond ring. Made my life easier.

She might not notice right off but when she drops it for cleaning at the jewelers you can bet she's going to know soon.
|
so how do you go about buying a diamond without getting ripped off? what do you look for?
I hate the fact that women put so much emphasis on a useless trinket. |
You cheap ass:1orglaugh :1orglaugh

Hey, if you tell her it's an expensive diamond, the first thing she'll want to do is add it to the house insurance. To do that, it needs to be professionally appraised. It's not just greed, you know.
