Anyone have an i730 nextel?
 

i just got one. the guy threw in a data cable, but said id have a hard time using it because i need to find and download some software?

he said he cant tell me how to do it.

anyone ever use the data cable on this phone?

i wanna download ringtones and GPS updates and shit

or can you give me a site for quality ringtones?

the ones im finding are all goofy lol

Yep, I got a i730. There is a place in brooklyn (I believe its in brooklyn) I know a guy that works there, he hooked me up with rap songs and wallpaper on my phone. The name of the place is 'hypermods' so look it up :)

is thatt the pocket pc phone?
I looked at mine and all it says is Samsung

you have to have an active sync program (should be able to get it at palm.net)
plug them up - .. and if it's the same as mine - it uses .wav files for ringtones..

I have never been to the actual place I went to his house here on the Island. They charge like 5$ for a ringtone though.

its just a nextel phone capable of downloading shit. But aparently they dont give you the synch software you need to download anything lol

They haven't came out with any public program for it yet. The programs that you use to put the ring tones and wallpaper etc.. Into the i730 require you to connect to servers(I believe nextel servers).

i have the i730 i know you can go to the nextel site and they have some online store deal where they have ring tons and programs ect you buy them and you download them over the air. there is some download util as one of the programs that holds your buys. i believe they always stay there to re download them if you run out of space and have to delete them or phone break you can always just re download them.

The ones they have suck though. You can get actual WAV files on your phone, i have the actual words singing on my phone. Plus the wallpaper they have suck too.

You can register with Motorola as a developer, or download a hacked version if you look around the net which lets you upload to your phone, see:

I've got custom .wav for ringers (which I made from an mp3) and custom wallpaper, was easy but is a little work to get started...

yep ive downloaded quite a few of those songs that people made into WAV files to use as ringtones, BUT i cant figure out how to get them onto my phone lol
