GFY Signatures....wtf?
 

Um...why did I get my signature turned off because it was too big when there's a crap load of other webmasters on here with way bigger signatures?!?

My banner 468x60 and one very small half line of text that contained my email address and ICQ address. Hardly obtrusive.

Edit: okay...maybe not both of you, I noticed that yours is 468x60 too...so it was the same size as yours.

And YOU! My banner was WAY smaller than yours, and not nearly so much text!

This place is not supposed to be fair, notice the name.

I already got that...but it's like 1 rule for some and 1 rule for everyone else. I don't like double standards is all. If you're going to set rules, shouldn't you abide by them yourself?

#1: Think before you speak.

#2: Assuming #1 has failed you, look long and hard at the banner in my sig. Think about it.

#3: Look a little to the left and ponder the name. Try not to get hung up on the name so much as putting your efforts toward the fact that the name you're looking at is the one that a) created the banner. b) created the program that goes with the banner. c) The program is an Adult.com program. & d) GFY belongs to Adult.com.

Adding all this up and subtracting any fleeting thoughts of grandeur you may have been contemplating, this should, by all accounts, (at this stage of the game), be speaking volumes to you.


However,.... I have come to realize that not everything is always so easily spelled out. And for those that are simply flat out inept at connecting dots, I offer up a hearty, "GET A FUCKING CLUE!"


Fix your sig or face the consequences.

Sure, you may not think that's fair, but this is not a democracy.

The only time a 468x60 banner is acceptable in your signature is if you're promoting a sponsor who has a top banner spot on the forum.

Okay...I already got all of that...I wasn't trying to be a complete ass...I just wanted to state my opinion of fairness of rules...but in the name of keeping the peace, I'll let it go...and change my sig. Subject dropped.

Some of us have a get out of jail free card when it comes to these things.

in all truth, I really don't care about sigs. I almost never pay much attention to them at all. As long as I don't see a fucking FPA in someones sig, and unless they make an issue out of sigs when their own sig is non-conforming.

Here's a tip: If your own sig violates the board rules, it's probly not a great idea to draw attention to it by bitching about sigs.

Read the rules page.. Located at the bottom of this page.. far right link... See line #2.....

2. Signature rules. Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of default size and color.
New as of 1/1/2003: if your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 468x60 instead of a 120x60. Yes there is a reason this is so big. Also putting your text in a cell and making it look like a button is against the rules. Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text.

We get a pass cuz we're top banner advertisers.. Anyone who wants to promote someone who advertises up top you can use a big ass banner..
