Mpa2

Is the consensus that everyone that uses MPA2 shaves? I see it alot on here.

Looks like a good app. to me..but is it abused and anyone new that uses it quickly labeled shavers?

Danny_C 01-24-2004 06:09 PM

It's a myth, started by someone who didn't know what he was talking about.

Besides, even if you could shave with MPA2, you can't label all companies who use it as cheaters. That's a ridiculous assertion.

I agree with it being ridiculous. Seems like a great app. Just was seriously wondering why some kept :321GFY people who use it.

Get a clue, ANYBODY can shave.

Singling out one application only makes you look like a fool.

... oh yes, you can. give them the power and they use it. bottom line, a sponsor using this script will FUCK YOU !!!

Digipimp 01-24-2004 06:51 PM

This thread is retarded for those of you that haven't figured it out, two things you don't use in the same sentence money and trust.

Get a clue? I had an honest question on why sites that use it get labeled so quickly.

I was far from singling it out. It looks like a great app, like my posts say.

I know anyone can write anything to shave. Was just wondering why this app. got such a bad rap.

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 01-24-2004 06:53 PM

Damn...
I am wondering if the makers of MPA didnt set up that whole thing as a shtick for free promoting on boards down the road!

My understanding is that its a great application.

NOTE:
Its not a program alone that shaves its the operators that initiate shaving practices...
Any program can do it.
It boils down to trusting who ya do business with.

Fucking christ....

So what about the all the affiliate programs who have written there own affiliate tracking software? If you are saying you can't trust any of them, then why even promote anything?

So it is a good app? Cool. Just looks like some idiots on here gave/give it a bad rap.

Malakajoe - Best advice is to get ahold of Oystien. I got some pretty good offers on using MPA for a couple of my projects, I've looked through the application pretty extensively.

Again give em a shout they are good folks:thumbsup

fuelcell 01-24-2004 08:34 PM

I know a few affiliate programs that actually got a version of MPA2 without the shave module. It pissed them off that it was even there..

i respect u but shut the fuck up, what complete and utter fucking tosh, can u only promote ur shit by slagging others off?

the shave feature was taken off by mpa2 a long time ago.

ANYONE can shave and have power to shave. If you use ccbill u can stop recurrings, in any program u can set cookie length to 24 hours, if u use ur own code u can build in a shave feature...

fuck people can consider shaving to be "having outgoing links" on sites, no paying on exits etc etc...

maybe we should look at this another way... its about trust and the people behind the program...

Lets look at what u offer, some would say promoting a site who uses a phone number on the site to take orders that they do not get credit for is a way of shaving...

could we also say that a program owner who steals stuff of other sites is also MORE likely to shave???

Eg http://www.volumepills.com/index.3.gif

http://www.naturalgrowth.net/images/...inshipping.gif

and i bet my life those pictures u use are not licensed.

I've seen the entire admin, and there was no shaving feature that I saw.

But that part is irrelevant. The point I was making was that it's ridiculous to assert that a company is dishonest, simply due to the fact that they're using MPA2.

Zprogramz 01-25-2004 09:11 AM

Rediculous - does that mean that everyone that uses CCbill shaves too? I don't think so.

Ben-MensNiche 01-25-2004 09:25 AM

Well...when it comes to drawing pistols and pointing it at "the companies who shave", I really don't think there's that many people with grounded arguments. As Darren said, there's no way to classify "companies who shave" by which software they use or which processor they use etc etc.

At the end of the day, the only way to tell if a company shaves is to track all your clicks that you're sending to them, and if they don't show up at the other end, then something isn't right. Even then, they may not be shaving intentionally, talk to them and find out what's up. If you get a bad feeling about who you're doing business with, do business with another sponsor.

Many companies rely on their integrity to keep them in business, we do. Honesty is the best policy. Even if we did have the ability to shave, if we got busted doing so, then where does that leave us? We'd no longer have an edge over the competition, because even with the major advantages of our affiliate program, shaving would leave us on a level playing field with the rest of this industry. :Graucho

Maybe someone should contact me concerning my 10MBPS of traffic I sent and clicks/sales were never counted. Remeber me? you said Mpa2 had an error and someone would get back to me, its been 3 weeks.

Ray, I'm sure this will be resolved...hit me up on ICQ and I will find out what's going on with that. We had some issues with MPA2 a few weeks back, but being so new to the company, I was in the dark as to much of what was going on.

ICQ: 310539245

gin 01-25-2004 09:53 AM

shaving can easily be added into ANY script..

$strRan = randomnumber(10) //duno how to do ran numbers.
if($strRan hahahaha "1"){
$affiliate = "shavedbitch";
}

Is it true that MPA does not have their own programmers on site?

I am in the market for an affiliate script and I want to make sure they have people around incase my server goes down....

What do you recommend? Lease option or buy?

Thanks,

Rick
