Canadians, why are you so interested in U.S. Politics?

Why are you folks so interested?

rooster 01-23-2004 02:34 PM

Because Canada and Europe want the USA to follow their ultra-socialistic ways (which don't work and never will).

Its kinda like how mac users think they are on a higher plane of existence and anyone that uses a pc is a retard, even though a pc is better.

vas 01-23-2004 02:36 PM

Because there are no politics worth commenting on in our country. We have lots of bumbling fools in office but nothing even close to your fearless leader. Endlessly fascinating!

It's like when you are driving along the highway, and you come up o a really bad accident.

You just have to slow down and take a good look.

AndrewKanuck 01-23-2004 03:35 PM

Why are americans so interested in Iraqi politics?

StuartD 01-23-2004 03:38 PM

You ask this dumb ass question as if nothing that happens in the US affects Canada.

genomega 01-23-2004 03:39 PM

Because the US pays for all of the free handouts they get from their govt.

Doctor Dre 01-23-2004 03:39 PM

Cauz everytime you fuckup this affect us . Look at the economy right now if bush would have played his cards right the dollar would be lower and we would all be earning more money .

I suppose that is why Canada and Europe have not been around that long.... right?

Please.... These countries have been around longer than we have and have been doing pretty good. Fairly stable economy... maybe not the best... but fairly steady...

We on the other hand, depend too much on the stock market.... if that fails... we are all fucked... where other countries will still survive. Look at our history... stock market takes a drive... recession... depression or what ever.

try again....

you are right, but is like that in so many countries, do something, every one is just watching the guy with the big stick.

Been to many countries that are victims of terrorism. Unfortunately Americans aren't that much different, neither are Canadians. They will all allow there lives to be ruled by fear and terror. That's how terrorists work. Whole countries become terrified, laws start changing, populations become ultra-patriotic, life becomes difficult and religious extremism rises. We Canadians wouldn't be acting much different if we were the victims.

It's not terrorism people should be afraid of, it's themselves. Terrorism by itself makes very few victims but when you allow your country to be ruled based on fear of terror, the situation becomes bad.

Please, enlighten me... to which "ultra socialistic ways" do you refer?

Rich 01-23-2004 04:18 PM

hmm, though call. It should be pretty obvious if you think about it for 20 seconds, but I pay attention because you're our #1 trade partner, you're the only country we're attached to, and you're the #1 polluter of our water and the rest of our environment by far. Not to mention the biggest reason right now, but if you can't see how Bush launching a holy war against the Muslims affects us, you should be embarrassed. I live 60 minutes from the border and there are a lot of people way closer than that, most of our population in fact.

Your current government also tries to push their policies on ours, although usually we tell them to fuck themselves. Like we weed, Bush thinks he can keep us fighting useless war on drugs by pressuring us regarding border waits and bullshit. lol, if we're all stoned, you think we're going to freak out over a 30 minute wait?
