Adieu Captain Kangaroo

good night funnyman

Didn't he die a while back?

Mutt 01-23-2004 10:25 AM

Captain Kangaroo passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by longtime companion, Mister Greenjeans, and Bunny Rabbit.

Do you remember watching him Mutt? I was just thinking of him yesterday of the day before and was wondering how many people here on GFY had ever watched the show..... (guessing not many)

Man that is wild..

As long as we still have Mr. Peppermint all will be right with the world

yeah i do remember watching him as a kid, and i am old. he must have been fairly young that means when I was watching him at 4 and 5 years old.

i liked those calming shows, they are good for kids, later on came Sesame St and Electric Company, lots of stuff going on, shows like Capt Kangaroo and Mister Rogers are a throwback to kinder and gentler times for kids. I never knew a kid who needed to be on Ritalin or any other psych meds when i was a kid, but the next generation behind me it all started, now half the kids are on some med for behavioural problems. All they need is a good spanking, some attention and a few hours every day of Captain Kangaroo hypnotizing them into a sleep daze.
