yep I second that but, the only problem is he has cells all over the world that work independently from each other.

To be PERFECTLY honest, if it IS true, and it hasn't been put all over the news, it's because the capture of Osama would be a MUCH bigger accomplishment than the capture of Saddam was in the eyes of the world stage. And according to that article, if it's to be believed, it wasn't the Americans who captured him. Dontcha know, not good press.

I sure hope that's true. It's about damn time !! ha ha ha.

It's odd though how no US sources are posting the story. You'd think that once they caught wind of it, it'd be EVERYWHERE.

It would still be a definite aid though :)

Maybe they have gotta do DNA and confirm before announcing it worldwide. More likely it's not true though or the worlds press would be reporting 'possible capture'.

Yeah..I'm still wondering why the media isn't going crazy...simply over the "claim"...I would at least expect CNN to be over there interviewing and investigating it..themselves....

The press will print it the second they hear it they wont wait it is all about who is first to tell you the story. If it isnt on CNN by now it is rubbish.

He can still claim the it was the "American led coalition", or that he orchestrated the War on Terrorism which reached across the seas and country borders and pimp slapped Osama.

It's possible that there is a temporary embargo on the information until it's confirmed, then every news agency will get all the details forwarded directly from officials at a set time.

Failure to stick to the embargo would mean breaking regulator laws and no established news agency would do that.

I work in the media during the week and do this part time. I know that this is the way giant news stories are broken i.e death of a head of state or any other 'realease of information' story. This would not be the same for a terror attack etc networks would just go with the first available news / pics.

This doesn't seem right though, I would guess CNN etc have checked with the company who broke the news and offered big bucks for the source of the info, and found it not likely.

Someone wanted to up the market and this is a way to do it

This news is probably untrue as most of what comes out of that part of the world is outright lies.

However, if the US or other nation did capture Osama, it would behoove them to keep it quiet for a week or two. In that time they could use whatever intel they get to hunt down the active cells around the world. As soon as those cells hear that Osama has been captured, they will dispurse and go into hiding.

Having said that, I don't think the US gov has the discipline to keep a story like this quiet. Someone would leak it. Some other zealous idiot would print it.
