Anyone here know stuff about Golf?

I need to buy someone who recently helped me a gift, he is into golfing, what can I get him somethin unique?

JulianSosa 01-22-2004 12:46 AM

A fancy putter comes to mind.

SleazyDream 01-22-2004 12:47 AM

cj rick and wiseman come to mind.........

Sly_RJ 01-22-2004 12:47 AM

Personalize putter or something to that effect maybe. There are several things you could try.

Get him a ball washer. Every golfer needs clean balls.

Vox 01-22-2004 12:56 AM

Weekend golf getaway.

I wouldn't go with custom club or putter, too many variables. Left or right handed? how long of a shaft?....

Peter Romero 01-22-2004 12:59 AM

I live on a golf course and everyone looses thier balls in my yard. Mostly bad golfer I guess, maybe he's better & his all end up in the holes.

If he's the kind of guy that enjoys BBQs, then he'll love this. Saw it a little while ago and thought it was adorable.

A membership to a good golf club ??

HarlotCash Dyker 01-22-2004 03:37 AM

Golf clubs, especially putters are extremely personal as 99% of golf is about feel.

Most golfers lover anything and everything to do with the game, so books, videos are always a good choice.
Also - does your friend carry (his/her) bag, use a caddy, or use a trolly or buggy. Again, something along those line can be a useful gift.

DTK 01-22-2004 08:48 AM

I got a really nice personalized bag tag for christmas. Go here http://www.currentcatalog.com and search for golf bag tag. I agree w/Dyker, don't buy him clubs.

The Tiger Woods book is really great, I would recommend that one.

Head 01-22-2004 09:52 AM

Don't get him clubs cause if he's a real golfer he has a good set and you can't mix them. Changes the feel. Get him really good balls or Gloves or even a big bag of ties. If got a little money to spend get him a green fee coupon at a really nice club!

Golf gifts tend to run in an insane price range. What kind of money are you looking to spend on this gift?

About $1000

myjah 01-22-2004 09:54 AM

an autographed picture of his favorite golfer.

Minte 01-22-2004 09:55 AM

Do him a real favor and buy him a subscription to a good adult site

GOLF is the devils game!

For that amount, I'd suggest either a nice weekend vacation/golf package or a bunch of rounds at his favorite course.

I'd suggest you see if the clubs in your area have a package where you buy so many trips to the different courses and your friend can use them when he wants.

Clubs, balls, bags, those are all things that people who golf alot are really picky about. Playing somewhere nice on someone else's dime is always great tho ;)

jungar 01-22-2004 10:04 AM

Get him a 'Great Big Bertha'. It will run you a few hundred bucks, but any golfer would love that!

:thumbsup

I've been wondering about this.....the commercial's kinda hokey but I just read a review of it the other day and it's apparently a really good stick.

davecummings 01-22-2004 10:20 AM
