Basic PHP help
 

Ok, I've searched the php boards and sites, can't seem to find anything in lamens terms, so here goes.

Site example:
http://www.qmov.com/main.php

The movies seem to be assigned a value, either by name or by number. When you click on a scene at the bottom half of the page, you're taken to a page like http://www.qmov.com/main.php?wm=&movie=62

How would one go about assigning these values to movies and thumbs, then fetching them from a database and displaying them on a page?

This doesn't seem to be a very complicated thing to do (in terms of php of course), but I've got very minimal knowledge in such aspects.


Again, I've searched a shitload of php boards and sites...trying to enter what I've just explained into a search box is pretty much impossible.

Please don't post any php help sites or message boards. I know someone here can help.

because imagemagick, you need it to convert movies to thumbnails needs to have some mods installed.

It is pretty and I think that you could easily learn to do it yourself if you don´t want to pay for it. Google is your friend :glugglug

Nice, but if you ASK THIS TYPE OF QUESTION, you cant thumbnail anything with php.

and its getting ALOT HARDER, because you need to use external software.

I don't need the code to thumbnail anything. I need the code to DISPLAY premade thumbnails on a webpage...thumbnails that have been assigned a value either from a database or a text file.

If you're new to php and just looking for someone here that programs in PHP professionally to post the magic code to make it happen, you're barking up the wrong tree friend. Ain't gonna happen. It's not 5 lines of code to do this, it's a full blown script that we just don't give away.
If you really just want to learn how to code it yourself then do what we've done. Buy books, get online and take courses. Become a proficient php programmer.
