Does anyone else fell bad for Martha stewart?

I want to learn more about her court case, i feel bad for her.
10 years in jail. wasn't that amount she sold, ridiculopusly low?

I'd let her move in here ;)

She should just move somewhere that a million dollars or so buys her freedom and safety.

okny 01-21-2004 02:21 PM

I think she should get 10 years for what she did, but then again with a billion dollars she can by her own jail :1orglaugh

cosis 01-21-2004 02:21 PM

She deserves life

Dusen 01-21-2004 02:22 PM

I honestly don't feel bad at all. Noone ever thinks about those OTHER investors who lost out big time when she dumped her stock.

People got burned with what she did.

freeadultcontent 01-21-2004 02:30 PM

Umm yes, specially when she is getting charged for lieing, and of course her lie was professing her innocence on national TV.

TeaseEntertainments2 01-21-2004 02:33 PM

FUCK THAT SLUT

Is her trial over or are you specualting what she is potentially facing if convicted?

Tera 01-21-2004 02:33 PM

I feel bad for her because I liked her, in a way she was that annoying person that you liked.

But what she did was messed up and insider trading is a big deal, and she is a good person that we can make an example of, with all the corporate scandals that are going on, and insider trading.

She will get eaten up in prison, even a low security federal prison, I saw this thing on TV where a woman like her was put away and almost beaten to death, she wanted to meet with Martha Stewart if she gets convicted to give her some help on the inside.

TeaseEntertainments2 01-21-2004 02:34 PM

Come to think of it, FUCK YOU TOO for posting that pic last week!

FREE MARTHA!

Stallion 01-21-2004 02:37 PM

Nope I do not feel sorry for her. What she did was wrong and hurt other investors because of her illegal activities.

Guess she thought she was above the law.

its not that you dont see it, its the fact that you dont hear it.. but everyone is going to jail... :Graucho

I can't feel bad for someone who makes more money than most people will see in a lifetime.

But I do feel that she is being made as an example due to her status. Anyone else would not be getting as much attention or the book thrown at them to the degree in which she is...it's all about making an example out of her...

She's on trial right now. And I do kind of feel bad for her. I think, given the same set of circumstances, most of us would choose to do the same thing. That doesn't make it right or legal.

But, if some friend called you and said "hey, if you don't sell, you are definitely going to lose an assload of money in a few days". What are you going to do? Sit on it because its not right or take the chance and pray you don't get caught? It's a fucked up situation either way. But I don't think she deseves to do time. I know there are people who do it every day and are just flying under the radar.

I say, give her a big fine and let her be on her way.

TaylorM 01-21-2004 03:06 PM

Hmmmmm...OJ innocent and Martha could get 10!

And Scott Peterson was set up, right?

:1orglaugh

Is it just me or does Scott Peterson resemble Ben Affleck a little too much?

acctman 01-21-2004 03:21 PM

i feel bad for her, look at what happened. someone tells her that she needs to sell and she sells. who wouldn't sell in that situation if you're told that the market rate on a stock is about to drop why is it a bad thing to sell. you didn't tell that person to tell you.

I can see where you are coming from. Once he lost his weight he started to look like HOTTIE Ben.

He should be so lucky!

:BangBang: Scott Peterson

Sarah_Jayne 01-21-2004 03:31 PM

if for any other reason than the years in my late teens when my mother made me watch her show I feel no sympathy.

Wow.

Insider trading is a big deal, heh? Who would've thunk it...

Only problem is she is NOT being prosecuted for insider trading. She's simply a scapegoat in the whole ongoing Enron/Andersen debacle.

The people that say she hurt investors by selling her shares are also completely fucking nuts. That share volume wasn't even a blip on the radar.

Now why don't we talk about all the investors of MSI who are down 75% due to this Justice Dept. witch hunt?

<IMX> 01-21-2004 03:33 PM

I meant the D.A. probably offered her a plea.

She can't plead ignorance...she's a former stockbroker, and head of a huge NYSE publically traded company.

If she was that reckless in disregarding the S.E.C. rules for an INSIGNIFICANT amount of money, her cheap ass was bound to get caught.

If a friend calls you...as a private citizen its one thing, but as the head (and figure head) of a public comapny it's extremely irresponsible and stupid.
