2004 VISA Predictions

So, any rumors about credit card processing in 2004? Fees changing, chargeback ratios being enforced even more strictly, Mastercard fees, etc.?

Shoplifter 01-20-2004 10:58 PM

Ibill is hitting clients with card association fees. Just got the email today.

Digipimp 01-20-2004 10:59 PM

Higher fees and lower chargeback levels = more extortion.

Thanks EB, I think I love you. I'm going to talk dirty to you on ICQ when I make it, and you're going to like it since I'm almost a big time player now.

Yeah they are saying anything over 1% you pay fees, even if your limit is 2% on the EU network. That pretty pathetic, I guess the good news is if you are under 1% you have nothing to worry about.

Actually I got that mail too and had only 5 (FIVE) chargebacks in the whole year 2003. And no, my sales are not THAT low :Graucho

Bye Bye recurring for 3rd party processors

alan-l 01-21-2004 01:50 AM

We'd been hearing all this year about MC following the VISA path, so guess it will be it. It is possible that VISA will put a little more pressure, wether lowering CB ratios or charging more, maybe a monthly fee. If so, loads fo newbies and wannabes will get outta biz, so prepare yer wallets for some nice sites for coins :thumbsup

Supposedly more Visa *and* Mastercard regulations coming down the pike in March.

Don't expect the big 3rd-party billers to tell you anything about it though; remember how long they knew about the last one and sat on it until there were just a few weeks left to comply?

Does YOUR income rely on 3rd party recurring billing?
