Hmmmmm, what's the primary purpose for the camera?

I have used Olympus as well, they are inexpensive and easy to use :2 cents:

i would save a couple more hundred and get a Dimage or a Rebel EOS :2 cents:

Perfectly priced at $399.99 :)

I've had it for a few months and it rocks!

Hey Laurie - If you can come up with another $150.00 I would check out the new "credit card" sized 5.1 MP Sony DSC-T1:

spend a little more and get the Canon S50

Poppy 01-20-2004 11:13 AM

Canon Powershot Series is nice.

I got an A70 last thursday, bought it off ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...EBWN%3AIT&rd=1

I am very happy with it, good price, takes good pics, and isn't near as slow in autofocus as I expected. I think I already took around 200 pics.

whatever you buy, get a big flash card at the same time, as they all seem to come with 16 meg cards, which is pretty stupid!

I've worked with tons of digital cameras and owned probably over 20 . I have from 2 to 10 megapixel ones . Our compagny takes a LOT of pictures for our magasine and website .

If you want a camera that won't break, that is easy to use and reliable, go with a Sony Cyber Shot . They don't break when they fall off your hands or whatever . I got about 5 of thoses . There is one on sale (50 $ off) right now on sony.com sony.com .

If you want a really good and reliable camera you should wait for This one .

I have also 3 cannon but don't like them much . Kodak sucks too .
Canon and Kodak break easily (we have 6-7 people taking pics in bars and that happen once in a while to see beer go over cams or just too drop the cams).

Olympus rocks but they aren't as good as sony as far as I seen for the prices / reliability .

So if you want a reliable camera go for sony . Thats based from my experience with over 20 digital cam .
