School Takes Handgun From 6-Year-Old Student
Kindergartener May Be Charged

BRIDGEPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Michigan school officials are calling it "a show-and-tell mistake."

A 6-year-old kindergartener in Bridgeport Township brought an unloaded .38-caliber handgun into his kindergarten classroom on Friday.

Police say the boy opened his coat pocket and showed the gun to classmates. One of them immediately ran to tell the teacher.

The boy has been suspended from school. Police say he apparently took the gun from an unlocked drawer in his mother's boyfriend's home.

Authorities say the child or either adult could face charges.

Maybe he was going to bust a cap in someone's ass during naptime. First grade's not like kindergarten... shit's real in elementary school yo.

his parents should be thrown in jail for making the gun available for the kid to find.

guns will still be available if they were illegal. i can get a gun on the black market 10x easier than i can get one legally.

My clever retort would be that the parents should definitely be charged with (at a minimum) child endangerment.:thumbsup

And, I have work to do today, so no debates for me!

Why charge his parents? His father obviously is not in the picture -- he took the gun from his mother's boyfriend's unlocked drawer. So charge the mother and her boyfriend with criminal negligence, child endagerment (1 count for each child at the school), and whatever else the DA can think of.

But the only crime the father committed was knocking up a stupid woman.

That is because your gun laws are so fucked.. Try living in a country not run by conservative christian militants and you will see that getting a gun on the black market is not that easy. Fuck people look outside the box if that is possible, you think it is chance that you have 5 times more gun deaths per year PER CAPITA than any other country in the world?
