Anyone own a walther p22?
I'm thinking of picking one up...
I'm looking for a decent, affordable, rimfire .22 for plinking and targets...maybe a few cans here and there. Nothing to fancy...just sturdy, reliable and not too pricey. Suggestions? |
I just sold a Walther TPH 22. It was an awesome hideout piece.
They stopped making them about 3 years ago but there are lots of them out there. The one thing I heard thru the years is that one of them will be cherry and the next one will jam. Mine never did jam but then I used a cone nosed bullet rather than the normal round nose type. They are not cheap. I bought mine for $325 several years ago. Good luck with your search.:BangBang: :thumbsup |
Yes, & its on of the most reliable guns of its caliber on the market (well off the market now). I'd buy one to shoot with & one to collect.

James Bond makes the walther rule.

get http://www.glock.com/g17.htm with a 19rd clip

Another great gun to plink with is a .38 taurus revolver i have one & its great, the wad cutters aren't too expensive & after plinking 30-40 rounds your spent anyways.
9 millys are great to pink with but then again expensive.... If you need some sources to buy hit me up on icq, i know a couple of gun ebays where you can get great stuff. You can get hungarian AK-47's for $150, & a kit where you can strap 3 AK's onto a carriage wit 50 round clips & turn it into a gattling gun :) icq 147850026 hitting the sack right now but i'll hit you up in the morning if you contact me |

I'm staying away from the larger caliber's mostly because of price...I don't want to pay 700 for a gun...and I don't want to spend alot of money to shoot...the p22 seems to be a well built gun...inexpensive and the ammo is likewise affordable.
I'm not into glocks if I wanted a real gun I'd get a sig most likely... I'm not looking for something to carry to my next fiddy cent concert...just a FUN gun to take to the range...something to let my wife play with. I've been raised on guns and my family collectively owns a small arsenal...but this is a nice recreational piece more less...something for rainy days at the range. I was also looking at a few competition target pieces too... I'm taking my basic handgun safety in a few weeks and probably concealed carry before my next fiddy cent concert...:Graucho So does anyone actually own the p22? Someone with horror stories or praise? |
Get a ruger 10/22 ;) good, reliable, easy and fun to mod
|
I just called a local gunshop to check the availablility of that particualr pistol... the p22..and apparently the threaded barrel has made the gun a possibly considered an assualt pistol...WTF?!?
...anyone know more on this subject? |

Threaded barrel is ready to accept a flash suppressor or silencer. :thumbsup
I don't think the gubment likes people having guns like that (even if it is just a .22). |
Get a Beretta 92fs with a drop in 22 lr conversion kit.
