What system are you using? If you are on OS X you should be using Safari instead of IE, it sucks...

Sleazy,

in IE set your site as a home page then check the box marked with red here, quit then restart IE.
<img src="http://www.dreamdesigns4u.com/sleazyIE.jpg">

Glad to hear your mouse is working... or you should pick your fave keyboard layout in the system.

Good luck:thumbsup

Do yourself a favor and stop using Internet Explorer is the first thing you should do. Use Safari or Firebird. As far as the ' it works fine on mine just by typing it, so mayb what you need to do is fix your keyboard settings.

Your keyboard settings and home page settings can be adjusted in your system prefs. so go click the apple in the top left corner and scroll to system prefs then select Internet for your home page settings to fix and Keyboard & Mouse to fix your keyboard.

SleazyDream 01-19-2004 06:53 PM

quit and restart - fuck thatès stupid. but it worked. PCs donèt need to do that

now what about these fucking ééééééééééééééééééééééééés

JohnW 01-19-2004 06:54 PM

When you change the home page, and click the "ok" icon, "quit" IE. then when you open IE again, your home page should be set the one that you changed it to.

As for the wierd characters, this happened to me when I was fucking around with the "languages" and shit...i believe this is how I fixed it although it was a while ago...lol.

Go to "System Preferences", click the "international" icon (should be on the top row) and then select "input menu". From there, make sure that the icons for "character pallette" and "keyboard viewer" are checked off.
On the "menu" where it has "Language", Formats, "Input Menu" select "formats" and make sure your region code is set to "united states".

That should do it...hopefully.
=)

Well, do you think Microsoft is going to make a decent browser for macs? :)

Safari is great, way better then IE.

I have heard good things about other ones too... the keyboard might be set on another language or something odd, check it in the system.

System Prefs and then International and Mouse and keyboards.

i set it to USA and it all works fine

thanks for the help - that seemed to fix the problem

digifan 01-19-2004 06:57 PM

The quit and restart always work :)

Now go to the apple on the screen top left and scroll down to Control panels where you can find and set your keyboard and mouse settings.

And you can use IE of course... but any Mozilla versions or Safari are much better.

mrthumbs 01-19-2004 07:21 PM

this thread perfectly illustrates why someone USED to windows
should never switch to Mac..

Mac's are for Music, Movies and Bitches.

You were probably using Canada - Multilingual, you need to use the USA layout to loose the accents :)

So you set your homepage but do not want it to go there? Why would you have to check a box to tell it to go there? Durrrrrrrr

because without the check, your homepage only loads up on launch, not each time you open a new window. if you want the homepage to load each time you open a new window, you check the box. Durrrrrr.

No he didn't.. with these settings on you start with a blank page. if you hit the Home button you get the page you specified.

Every time to change your preferences, you have to quit and restart programs once so they take effect, be it IE or Photoshop.

um.. no you have.. you should only go to the home page when you first launch IE when you start work or when you press the "home" button.. not every time you open a bloody new window. I sometimes have 18 windows open at a time during normal work/surfing it would get annoying to load up the home page each time (and as my homepage is gfy i'd never get anything done.)
