Getting a Portrait Painted from A Picture.
 

Anyone know where to get this done, and at what cost?

A friend of ours is painting a large portrait of my family for only $500 without a frame. If I were to go shopping for an artist though I wouldn't know where to start looking.

You looking for realism here? I know someone that does awesome work, but its moore stylized. He has a super original style, and charges like 400 bucks a canvas

Its funny...the actual picture is only 500 bucks, but honestly, the frame can end up costing almost as much as that haha. I took a 26"x26" piece of art in to get framed...just a simple black frame with double matte, the guy wanted something like 276 dollars.

Im sure she does commisined work , just not sure how much she charges .
