Is your hometown the best mannered ?
Of course it's impolite to brag, but one could excuse Charleston just this once.
The coastal city again tops the unofficial list of the best-mannered cities in the United States. It's the 10th time and the ninth year in a row the city has taken or shared top honors since etiquette expert Marjabelle Young Stewart began compiling her annual list 27 years ago. The unscientific survey is based on faxes and letters. Mayor Joseph Riley Jr. said the awards simply reflect "the good hearts that we find in our city's people." Several Midwestern cities tied for second -- Springfield, Peoria, Moline and Rock Island, Ill. along with Bettendorf and Davenport, Iowa. Pensacola, Fla., San Francisco, and the Omaha, Neb., and Council Bluffs, Iowa, area round out the top five. Next come Nashville, Tenn., New York, Seattle, Chicago and Los Angeles. http://www.nbc4.com/news/2774950/detail.html |

Cool, I lived in central Illinois for a while there. Peoria, Springfield, and Normal are great places to live with good hearted people.:thumbsup
Moline... I dunno so much about. Though I must say, I was pleasantly surprised with how nice and laid back central Illinois can be. |
I'm sure my city is too small to be on that list. But it's pretty well mannered if I do say so myself
