Canadians make Rugby even worse!

Why are you bashing disabled people? That's low :ugone2far
|
is that MrPheer?
|
North Americans just can't play rugby and should just give up now, and stick to that game they play with all the pads.

I have respect for anyone who can overcome their disability and try to do as much as they can. I don't see the need to cut them down for what they do. What do you suggest those people do? Sit in the corner and watch the paint dry? |

The bottom line here is that all Canadians are insane in sports. Phear us. Even our disabled are ruthless and will cut you off at the knees given the chance.

Listen to what you're saying, you're calling their sport stupid just because they play it in wheelchairs. Don't you think they would love more than anything to be able to play it like normal people? I'm sure they would if they could, but they can't, so they're doing the next best thing. Although the sport they're playing must have some compromised rules, they seem to enjoy playing it, and that really ought to be all that matters. Why you gotta rain on their parade? |
It doesn't resemble rugby in any way, shape, or form. So even calling it wheelchair rugby is just.. stupid.
Their sport is not stupid because they play it in wheelchairs. The sport is stupid because they try to call it rugby. This whole "we may be cripples, but we can do everything you can do" shit is so tired. And that's all it is. I imagine having their own sports, suitable to their ability, would be more enjoyable than playing a "compromised" version of a sport and having to whack wheelchair in front of the name. Of course, you get exceptions, like wheelchair basketball. Something like that is good, because the game is actually played as it normally would be. They just happen to be in a wheelchair when they play. I think a lot of these people feel compromised enough as it is without having to participate in a sport with compromised rules. |
Choda, if you sat your ass in a wheelchair and went a few rounds with them you'd change your tune.

Western Canadians take their rugby very serious. Not sure how popular it is out East though.
If Vancouver finally builds a good outdoor stadium, I expect the rugby in Canada to vastly improve as they could practice all year long. |
Thats why canada invented basketball...
