... never tried that, I am having awesome success with .biz/.info, therefore I vote: I don't know.

It doesnt matter what extension you use for SE. The keyword weight is not effected.

Dot com is only better for type ins and branding.

The thing you need to be careful with about buying any domain of any tld is the history of that name.For Search engines its safest to have a new clean domain that wont bring with it a penalty or get an expired domain penalty.
That is why meany webmasters are buying .biz, .info and .ws beccause you are 99% guaranteed that they have not been used befor and are therefore clean.
