When asked whether Mr. Bush had done more to unite the country or divide it, the public was split ? 43 percent said he had brought Americans together, 44 percent said he had divided them.

When given a choice between an unnamed Democrat and Mr. Bush, 43 percent of the registered voters polled said they would vote for Mr. Bush, while 45 percent said they would vote for the Democrat.

I see a lot of negative remarks about Bush, but I can't recall one post promoting one of his opponents...

I say Bush get reelected this year but I say he might be shot or finish dead before 2008 (Fingers are crossed).

The problem is most people who get polled as "Democrats" are too lazy to put down the crack pipe and actually vote.

Soldiers coming back in body bags from Iraq, the main problem Bin Laden still not dealt with, and the economy - which isn't doing as well as the republicans would like you to believe. The IMF announced last week that the US was a threat to the world economy because of it's debt and trade deficit.. a pretty big call.

There are a few issues that are different from last election yannow :)

ps.. I know it was mostly a joke.. i've just been in an argumentative mood all day.

Evening news had a very interesting poll on about Bush..from Time/CBS (I know it was CBS..forget who else they poll with..I believe it was Time Mag..but could be wrong here).

Anyhow..in December, 65% of those who called themselves "Independents" approved of the job Bush was doing.

Just one month later..that number had dropped to 46%! That's like a 20 point drop in just ONE month.

And it's the "independents" who always decide who wins. Could prove interesting.

Mr. Pheer could not speak truer words, the electoral college will spit on your individual vote as long as it still remains the active system.

Also, as an "independent", I can say there are a number of things Bush screwed up big time. It's good to argue points such as... was the president's justification for going to war misleading, but it's simply ignorant to bring up issues which don't make sense such as saying saying the economy is not surging, or why did we liberate Iraq. Crawl out from that rock, look at the stock markets/national economic indexes, and the millions of iraqis who are blessed with freedom (vs. the few extremist protestors).

I'm still undecided as to who gets my vote. I just think it's sad that a lot of democrats are becoming extreme left, and the republicans are capturing the centrist voter block without even really appealing to them. The democrats have to get back to the normal/center ideologies to be considered a serious party anymore. Also, if Howard Dean becomes president, something tells me that trying to "negotiate" with terrorists will make 9/11 look lik a shadow in comparison to what the murderers cook up next. This is world war 3, and few seem to realize it.

unless you vote for Lieberman but democrats aren't smart enough to see he has the *only* chance to beat Bush.
